I'm trying to pick out films for which several stills exist.

Not to my knowledge.

LawrenceA wrote: January 25th, 2023, 3:36 pm I watched the 1953 version with Robert Taylor, Stewart Granger and Ann Blyth just this past year for the first time. That version was nominated for the Color Cinematography Oscar. I found it pretty forgettable.
Thanks for the warning!

Jolt (Amazon Prime) Kate Beckinsale (as a blonde) has a problem with anger management, so her shrink (Stanley Tucci) devises a sort of electronic strait jacket she can wear - and when she feels the urge to beat the snot out of someone, she presses a button and that calms her down. She falls for a g...

LawrenceA wrote: January 18th, 2023, 12:55 pm I never knew until now that Louis Wolheim originated the role of Yank in "The Hairy Ape".

I also see that he was a favorite of the whole Barrymore clan, and appeared in films with all of them in the silent era.
I'm more impressed that he was a mathematics teacher. :D

Re: OBITUARIES

Gina Lollobrigida pass yesterday. My favorite film she was in was her first major English language film, the John Huston farce, Beat the Devil. She played the Italian wife of Bogart and she had many very funny lines that she carried off in her sexy style. I like her foreign films more than her Amer...

Re: Wallace Reid

The Library of Congress lists the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation as the Copyright Claimant for Valley of the Giants. I assume the corporation no longer exists. So was Lasky claimant for a time, and then the copyright expired? I assume that is the case.

My restoration of the Wallace Reid film The Valley of the Giants (1919) will get its first big screen showing at the Autry Museum of the American West in Los Angele on Feb. 11. I'd be curious to know more about the restoration process. Since the film was in the Gosfilmofond in Russia, how does it g...

Re: The Man from Earth (2007)

I saw this as well over a year ago and enjoyed it. I did see one "development" coming which I felt was a bit much, but overall, it was an interesting film and well worth sitting through. There is a sequel, which I also saw, but didn't feel it was as good as the original.

Meighan is shown below, again in Pittsburgh, with two Paramount publicists: https://i.imgur.com/HwFTFhw.png The publicist on the left looks like Louis B. Mayer. Yes, he does, but it isn't him.
