Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Ben Stiller. What a precocious kid. Just kiddin'. Pelham is a wonderful 1970s thriller.
Thrills, chills, spills, and laughs too. I was kind of hoping that Martin Balsam would
get away with it. I get a kick of the the finale, as if the sound of a sneeze would
hold up in court. Hey, it's just a movie.

Re: I Just Watched...

Gertie believed in an informal office atmosphere.

{She'll show up sooner or later. Della didn't need
to smoke that often. She got plenty of second-hand
smoke from Perry's & Paul's coffin nails.}

Re: I Just Watched...

LOL! Hopper was good casting as Drake. I don't think he could've carried the show as Perry. I don't think it would've been the long running hit it became. Perry needed someone with gravitas. "Star Quality". Burr had it. Hopper was a good supporting actor. I never realized they ever showed...

Re: I Just Watched...

Interesting. My on-screen guide provides the season and episode information almost always. Sometimes it doesn't match IMDb's data, though, but that's usually on British shows, or sometimes on M*A*S*H , when they had the odd hour-long episode that's chopped into two episodes for syndication. The old...

Re: I Just Watched...

Yes, Raymond Burr's attention was directed elsewhere! LOL. This being a family show, they couldn't really show Della really coming on to Perry, but you get the impression she was available if he was willing........At least Della wasn't stuck being the receptionist. They had Gertie for that. Yeah, I...

Re: Noir Alley

TBK, so bad it's....awful. Except for the scenes with Rod chewing yards of carpet it's really quite dull, especially the never ending back and forth the between Jack and Ida. I felt a little sorry for her because this guy is basically a horn dog. He really should have committed suicide in the first ...

Re: I Just Watched...

LOL. Della went far and beyond what a legal secretary would do. Seems she was available 24 hrs a day. She even put up some of Perry's client at her apt.!!!. She had no life beyond her job it seems (at least in tvland). Paul I could see. He was a private eye. I believe part of that was her hidden lo...

Re: I Just Watched...

His weight really fluctuated during the series. He seemed slimmer at the start and then got bigger as the show went on. By the time of the last few seasons he looked like a refrigerator with a suit on. He also had a shorter haircut, but I don't think the two were connected. I've read that Burr had ...

Yes. Never liked Hazel, even as a kid! Perry needed that extra power to move him along.
Especially in the later seasons when he had put on quit a few pounds.

Re: Noir Alley

It's never made clear just what type of sister she is. She mentions being a foster sister or something like that. Not related. It's obvious she's a lot older. True, she never kills anyone, but I'm sure she'd use TIerney to kill if it suited her purposes and covers for him. I have no doubt she would...

I haven't thought about NYNEX in years. Funny how many of the
Baby Bells gradually merged with one another after the breakup
of AT&T.

Re: I Just Watched...

10 gallons to the mile!!! Yeah, I noticed Highway Patrol and Hazel...... Of course Perry could afford it. Never much of a Hazel fan. I still like LITB. Another show that's been in that time slot for a pretty long time. They just finished the last season and are starting over again with the first one.

Re: I Just Watched...

My car would probably take up 1/2 of Perry's cars! LOL. I probably watch around 12 stations on a regular basis. Another half dozen once in awhile. The rest I never watch. Mine too, though I doubt his gas mileage was very good. FETV runs PM episodes in the afternoon and in prime time, which are the ...
