Re: Oscar Nominations

"He" Who? Originally, it was my sister in law's comment that was facetious, and for some reason you saw it as opportunity to insult somebody you haven't met and will never meet, in some pathological need to feel smugly superior. And the sad thing is that it had the opposite effect. I woul...

Expanding the sense of humor is also being able to discern if and when someone is being facetious and pulling the proverbial leg in order to prevent them from babbling pretentiously in vain effort to appear smarter or more emphatic then they actually are with supercilious verbiage. ;) Sepiatone Som...

My Mom had the 45 of Haley's mixed in with her 78s of Woody Herman, Benny Goodman and other big band and "swing" era records. Was years before I finally heard the OG. Wound up diggin' both. ;)

Re: What are you listening to?

Let's try some MC5 more in their prime. One of my favorite tunes of theirs, and some good shots of my once across the street neighbor, drummer Dennis Tomich(AKA Dennis "machine gun" Thompson). https://youtu.be/74jS3dW0DtE Sepiatone

Re: Oscar Nominations

Due to me not seeing any of the movies that may have been nominated or any of the people in those movies that may have been nominated I'll be looking at something else tonight. A sister in law of mine though, and who hates Jimmy Kimmel with a passion said she'd watch if it was guaranteed that someo...

Re: WHAT YOU HAVE FOR DINNER TODAY!

I haven't given a thought about dinner yet. I'm still trying to come up with something for lunch. But for dinner I might just have some turkey kielbasa and pierogi. Luckily I have enough beet horseradish to go along with it.

Re: OBITUARIES

Blake was one of the few child actors who also found success as an adult actor. As Mickey Gubitosi he was the center of one of my favorite OUR GANG shorts, "All About Hash." He also did a good George in a "made for TV" presentation of "Of Mice And Men". in '81. And I st...

Re: Two Great Actors In One Film

But Wayne and Stewart are the leads, the others are great but supporting players. Especially Woody Strode. Never a star, really. Ah, but the quest was of two great ACTORS. Not "stars". There usually is a difference between the two. If you want, replace Strode with Marvin, or Trade Marvin ...

Re: Cabaret

I thought it was OK too. what stuck out for me was the ending, which showed the twisted, distorted reflections of the Nazi officers in the audience, offering a macabre foreboding of the tragic events yet to come.

Come to think of it, I've never seen EXODUS. Nope, don't know why.
