Re: Least and Most Favorite Movie of the week

I rewatched Marketa Lazarova today, and while I had already nominated the title character for best supporting actress of 1967, I now have a clear enough grasp of the movie to remember the other char...

Re: April 2024 Schedule Posted, Marlon Brando is SOTM

I know it doesn't have many fans, but it's a pity that as part of its Brando tribute TCM isn't showing A Countess from Hong Kong. It's hard to believe it would be the worst Brando film shown this month.

Re: Least and Most Favorite Movie of the week

Last week I saw three movies, none of them fully successful. Courage for every Day is a mid-sixties Czechoslovak film about a young member and Communist part member who faces the growing disillusionment of those around them. At least that's the plot Wikipedia and tv guides give. Actually watching th...

However, I did have a list of those directors who won two or more oscars: Multiple wins 4 John Ford 3 Frank Capra William Wyler 2 Ang Lee Frank Borzage Alfonso Cuarón Clint Eastwood Miloš Forman Alejandro G. Re: Rethinking Best Cinematography

Now it's time for 1964, which was actually the year I began talking about the subject, but where my post has been mostly obliterated in the great deletion of my posts. Re: April 2024 Schedule Posted, Marlon Brando is SOTM
