Re: WHAT MUSICALS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?

Today on TCM - I watched on my favorite all time actresses - Rita Hayworth in Tonight and Every Night with co-stars Lee Bowman and Janet Blair. It was grande - I love the dancing, the romance, the setting in London during the Blitz in WWII, and the magnificent stage props and all. http://thumbnails3...

Re: I Was a Male War Bride (1949)

This is one my favorites as well. I loved the chemistry of Sheridan and Grant so much - their romantic overtures and escapes are so downright silly and I would classify this movie as a screwball - because of its unique zaniness. The drag scene of where Ann Sheridan using the horse's hair to make a m...

Re: True Grit -- the Remake

It looks good - and though a good trailer does not a good movie make, I like the tone and style of the trailer. It reminds me of Days of Heaven . It looks like the remake is taking a very different direction, which is super. They aren't basing it on the larger than life persona of Rooster Cogburn, ...

Re: Dumbest Show on TV

Klondike, I just watched your You Tube clip that you've contributed - although I think it is dumb but I do have to agree with you its can be very entertaining at times. I may have to rethink this for a day or two; and come up with another entry to the fray. I applauded your defense - of my nominatio...

Re: THE HANGING TREE (1959)

hello, kingme, I'm so glad you enjoyed The Hanging Tree . I like seeing new fans of this thoughtful little western. This is the first time - I see this movie and I was moved deeply and I was in awe of the many meanings of life, greed, hardships, corruption, and most importantly the generosity of th...

Re: THE HANGING TREE (1959)

klondike » Tue Feb 08, 2011 9:27 pm What I want to know: what happened to poor Rune (Ben Piazza), after being cornered, grappled & abducted forcibly by leering, skanky John Dierkes [remember him as nasty Morgan Ryker in Shane?] and his shivaree-type cronies, with half the town in flames? We're ...

Re: Thoughts on TCM

I hope you get to watch THE HANGING TREE on TCM tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. (EST). It's extremely rare and quite interesting I think. I enjoy True Grit though I haven't seen the remake yet. I'll have to rent it when it comes to DVD. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is my favorite John Wayne western...and ...

Re: THE HANGING TREE (1959)

I just watched The Hanging Tree today on Turner Classic Movie - and I just loved the scenery, photography, the story line, and tender loving relationship with the blind woman (Marie Schell) and Gary Cooper that played the Doctor - who guides her back to recovery and so forth taking care of her and p...

Re: SILVERADO

And the way the hat rumbles around before it settles. One of my favorite lines is when they go off on their canyon rescue and Scott Glenn tells Costner to keep an eye on the wagon train. One of the men questions their return. Glenn says something to the effect "if we don't come back then you c...

Re: SILVERADO

SILVERADO It's starred four rowdy misfits that came to a town called Silverado. They encountered many perils and dangers - the quartet of Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, Kevin Costner, and Danny Glover had a difficult time making things right in a town that full of injustice that can literally bleed a man...

Re: Best Batman Villain - The TV Series

I'm big fan of this TV Show and my heart always belong to Frank Gorshin - The Riddler.
I have his autograph, and autographs of Cesar Romaro as the Joker, Meredith as the Penguin, and both Lee Meriweather and Julie Newmar as Catwoman.

I love this TV Show.

Re: Thoughts on TCM

Welcome, Kingme! It's always a pleasure to welcome a new westerns fan! Miss Goodness - My favorite Westerns are True Grit (loved the remake), Silverado, pretty much of all the John Waynes, and others.
