Hey Otterhere,

So glad to see you..... over here LOL. I think you'll like it a lot more here. There's a lot less drama :)

Roots has to be the king of the epic miniseries. Very moving. Rich Man, Poor Man is another favorite, for a guilty pleasure. I've always wondered why miniseries, and made-for-TV movies in general, gradually stopped being produced. My guess would be it's just easier and cheaper to crank out all these...

I think most people were upset when Col. Blake was killed off, but not half as much as they were when Hello, Larry appeared. LOL....... yeah, what was Maclean Stevenson thinking with a trade-off of shows like that? I think he was in a few more after Hello, Larry, though I'd be hard-pressed to remem...

Good points, Anne! Friends depends an awful lot on character development, you almost have to start from the beginning. And I don't know if any show ever did a better mix of comedy, drama and tragedy than M*A*S*H, but I would venture to say no other show came close.

I Love Lucy is one sitcom I could never tire of seeing. Almost like "comfort TV"

Of the more modern sitcoms, Everybody Loves Raymond is one of my favorites. The dialougue and situations just seem more believable than in most sitcoms.

I haven't seen this in a long time, but used to watch it regularly when it first came on cable. I enjoy it too. It's an interesting idea for a story, but I think it had just the right casting. I'm not sure it would have worked with anyone else in the leads. I usually enjoy Ellen Burstyn in anything ...

Sorry Anne,

I think this is one of the greats. I find it hilarious from start to finish, especially Ethel Merman and the guy who plays her son never fail to crack me up. I'll eventually revise my list on the 25 Favorite thread and put this in. Classic comedy in my book.

Mongo,

I'm glad you escaped without being seen by anyone, but it might have been interesting to hear what might have happened if you had  :)

Hollis,

Just have to say I love the variety in your list. I think it's really cool to see Goodfellas and Pulp Fiction included. I'd be tempted to put Pulp Fiction in my list, but I really only like the John Travolta/Uma Thurman story and dialougue. The others leave me a little cold.

Ok, here's my list(for now). Except for the number 1 spot, these will all be at random, as they come to mind for now, and may be subject to change. Ben Hur (without a doubt the most awesome movie experience for me) The Ten Commandments It's A Wonderful Life To Kill A Mockingbird Double Indemnity The...

I loved them as a kid, but don't know if I could sit through them now that I'm older. I think they are definitely a "guy thing", I've never heard any females saying they enjoy them.
