Re: I Just Watched...
i swear I'll shut up about DEATH ON THE NILE but I have three final musings and an extremely esoteric observation to make, but SUE ME, I'm sharing them: 1. anyone else wonder if they threw LOUISE BORGET''S BODY to THE CROCODILES? 2. What if DR LUDWIG BESSNER was onto something and ARMADILLO URINE I...

Re: WHAT HAPPENED TO 40 GUNS???
Spielberg was introducing it over the wknd, than after a few minutes delay, Jewel Robbery started and was shown in its entirety (a previous selection in that series) WHAT is going on with TCM lately? This is the 2nd time in a couple wks this has happened. (something not on the schedule is shown). I...

LAND OF THE PHAROAHS -- I guess every great director is entitled to make at least one bad picture in their career. "Bring the snake in a strong basket" "The gods of Egypt have spoken!" I still love the ending though. So deliciously ironic. William Faulkner worked on the script! ...

Re: SOUTH BROADWAY AFTER DARK
The Rialto is now an Urban Outfitters, but the building is still there. The theater itself wasn't that large compared to other L.A. downtown theaters, but it was said to have the longest marquee on Broadway.

Krakatoa is actually WEST of Java, but that's Hollywood! {Pedanticism=ON} Any two points on the surface of a globe which do not lie on the same line of longitude are both east and west of each other. It is simply a matter of how far you wish to travel when going from one to the other. {Pedanticism=...

Yes, Alma is back as a Spanish name, pronounced "Ahlma." The name from the past was "you can call me Al-ma." What movie character was named Alma? I seem to remember one. Geraldine Page's character in SUMMER AND SMOKE was named Alma. There's even a line where Alma says that her n...

Is Jewel Robbery on right now on TCM on anyone else's TV in the East instead of Forty Guns? Ben was with Spielberg introducing Forty Guns then the screen went black for a few minutes then Jewel Robbery showed up. Anyone else experiencing the same ? YEP! SAME! No 40 Guns! LOL.
