Re: I Just Watched...

i was always bummed we never got to see ADELE. Would've been an EPIC GUEST ARC for MARY WURONOV**. **Who, yes, I know- appeared in the season 2 episode JESSICA BEHIND BARS. LOL! I just saw JESSICA BEHIND BARS over the wknd! Which role did [MARY WURONOV] play? ONE OF THE GUARDS, I mean, c'mon, that'...

oh wow, I didn't know they ever showed GERTIE on the show (PERRY MASON) I always thought she was a "MARIS"- shows you what happens when you only have access to syndication. I always pictured GERTIE as working out of THE BROOM CLOSET and looking more or less like this: https://i0.wp.com/bl...

(she is of course chained to the table and DELLA pays her in cigarette nubs, of which there are plenty) EDIT: and yeah, she gets high on the correction fluid- who THE HELL are YOU to JUDGE? LMREO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone lights up on this show! Did Della ever puff? I don't remember her smoking. I'm r...

Bingo Long is one I'd like to see.
Yes, that was unusual for a male star at the time. Still is.

Re: I Just Watched...

Yes, Raymond Burr's attention was directed elsewhere! LOL. This being a family show, they couldn't really show Della really coming on to Perry, but you get the impression she was available if he was willing........At least Della wasn't stuck being the receptionist. They had Gertie for that. Yeah, I...

Re: Noir Alley

I'm glad that ElCid and Hibi see THE BIG KNIFE just as I do. It will make DARK PASSAGE seem like a flawless masterpiece by comparison. I watched the intro to hear Eddie talk about why THE BIG KNIFE would be considered noir. Eddie mentioned 1) a secret from the past (many non-noir films have that el...

Re: Noir Alley

And starring MISS SHELLEY WINTERS as Dixie Evans! Who came up with THAT billing? I was so unimpressed with the film, I forgot to check this thread! PU!!! It was static and as hammy as I (vaguely) remembered it! Hard to say who was the hammiest, Steiger or Palance. (At least Steiger wasn't in the wh...

Re: I Just Watched...

I believe part of that was her hidden love for Perry. She drops a few hints, but he doesn't, for the most part, take the bait. It was a pretty exciting life for a legal secretary, however unrealistic, and it seems she got a good paycheck. And reference is frequently made to Paul being quite the man...

Re: I Just Watched...

LOL. Della went far and beyond what a legal secretary would do. Seems she was available 24 hrs a day. She even put up some of Perry's client at her apt.!!!. She had no life beyond her job it seems (at least in tvland). Paul I could see. He was a private eye. I believe part of that was her hidden lo...
