Speaking of age appropriate behavior, what ever happened to that looney mugging case that left Prince Frederic Von Anhalt sans clothes and tied to his steering wheel? I don't know what happened, but my mom and I got a kick that he called Entertainment Tonight immediately after it happened. The pict...

I love any kinds of posts dealing with Oscar Levant. I found The Cobweb fairly boring which is a shame, since it has Lauren Bacall and Gloria Grahame in it. I wound up getting distracted halfway through and FF'ed for Oscar's parts though. Minnelli offered him the small part of Mr. Capp, since at the...

Don't forget: two other SSO'ers - Filmlover and Chris (movieman1957) - also submitted really strong schedules as well. I'm glad there wasn't a tie, because I didn't want to have to choose. They were all so good and each schedule had themes and movies that I loved! Thank you to all the SSO'ers that p...

I am really looking forward to this movie tonight--but since it's on so late, I'll tape it probably watch it during the week. I noticed it when I was looking over the schedule at the beginning of the month and thought it sounded really interesting and fairly different than the other usual TCM Import...

Moria, if you have to go with the boxed brownie mix, I suggest the Ghirardelli brand. Hands down, the best brownie mix I've ever tried. If you didn't have to swirl peanut butter into them, I'd tell you to go with the Turtle flavor. If you wanted to, you could always buy a bag of those peanut butter ...

After reading through the clarification thread, I just want to add that I feel badly for not ever commenting on your artwork--especially as a designer myself. Support and feedback are things we designers thrive on. It's like food and water to people ;) I envy your style. I've looked at your other de...

Manpower (1941)
I've been waiting to see this movie forever (the last showing was in December of 2005!) and I'm happy to say that it didn't disappoint. I'll watch anything that Edward G. Robinson is in and the added bonus of George Raft, made it even better. I started the thread here because I'm not sure what genre...

Re: How To Make A T-Shirt Quilt...
BTW-I wear my Peanuts t-shirts proudly...and I'll be in my late '40's next month! :D Hey, I still wear my Peanuts shirts too, except that I usually sleep in mine! They're still making lots of Peanuts/Snoopy sleepwear and everytime I see something new, I buy it. I keep telling myself, "It's for...

Inglis, your post made me smile. How wonderful of you to surprise your daughter with Hillary Duff tickets! My parents used to do things like that when I was a kid and those are some of my very best memories from my childhood. I imagine your daughter will feel the same way when she gets older. I'm gl...

I just finished watching Blood on the Moon and The Set-Up this afternoon and while I liked the first one (it reminded me of a Mann western), I absolutely loved The Set-Up . For a 72 minute movie, it was incredibly exciting and tense. The boxing match and the ending kept me on the edge of my seat, bu...

but just about anybody would look plain next to the gaudy, burlesque queen Marlene with her constant clown make up (all she was missing was a red bulb on her nose). I don't think you were clear enough, Anne. Did you think Marlene wore too much makeup or not enough? Not sure if this is surprising ne...
