Re: Biopics

My Wild Irish Rose (1947) is a biopic which I watched recently. It is based on a biography written by his wife Rita, not Rose as in the movie. Actually her name was Margaret. “Chauncey” Olcott was married twice and, as far as I can tell neither wife was named Rita. Perhaps it was a nickname. There ...

Luise Rainer

Luise Rainer I am a great admirer of Luise Rainer. I have seven of her nine English language movies. I have written to her twice each year for a few years now. She never replied, but that is not important. The main thing is that I was able to thank her for the pleasure she had given me by making th...

Re: New York City

She was bigger than I, and seemed to have muscles on her muscles. I thought I was dead, and she said to m...

Re: New York City

Ann is definitely a lovely lady, but I am not too sure about the handsome gent. I was told more than once that I was very brave to move around New York alone, especially on the subway, but at no time did I feel threatened. The only time I was a bit scared was at Key West, when I was challenged by on...

Re: A visit from Fossy from Australia

I had a great time with Steve and Rita. I did not realise how much there was for us to talk about. Steve has a great family and they are all close. He and Rita live in a lovely area. Definitely not like NYC. Look at A Trip To America for more info.
