Rosalind Russell is a versatile actress who really didn't get the kudos she deserved. Although she was nominated 4 times for the Oscar, she never won. Her turn should have came with "Auntie Mame". I enjoyed her roles in "Roughly Speaking" (lousy title for such a film), "Sister Kenny", "Gypsy" and "P...

"The Sunshine Boys"

This movie cracks me up at every viewing. Walter Matthau and George Burns are a delight as the old vaudeville team reunited after many years apart. The one liners are priceless.

If the lovely and talented Alice Faye had more exposure on TCM she would not be forgotten. Since TCM don't have much access to her 20th Century-Fox films we are out of luck and she remains dormant. I catch her films on occasion on the Fox Movie Channel and she is a joy to behold in Technicolor. Also...

Just watched "Capote" for the first time and thought Philip Seymour Hoffman was mesmerizing in the title role.
Also very good were "King Kong", and "United 93" although depressing.

"Nightmare Alley" is a gem of a film-noir with perhaps Tyrone Power's finest performance. I still have the movie on VHS which I taped from AMC years ago.

My favorite will have to be "Double Indemnity".

As a hardcore Stanwyck fan, I enjoy seeing her burlesque routine as Dixie Daisy in the mystery caper "Lady of Burlesque". Of course I get a kick out of the other ladies too including Iris Adrian, Marion Martin, and Gloria Dickson. OK Ken, the Irishman was a hoot as played by the appealing Michael O'...

Hard to choose from Mr. Ford's impressive list of westerns although my choice is "My Darling Clementine" (1946). His black and white film is as lush as many color films you see. His use of shadow is powerful – witness his death shroud on Doc Holliday's face (Victor Mature) as he talks to Chihuahua (...

I'm afraid it was 'Stinkaray' for me although I did get a kick out of Una O'Connor, as I usually do.
