Re: Do You Know Me?
Home In Indiana is special to me because the last race was filmed in my hometown. I spent my youth running around the fairgrounds where it was filmed. On to the game. I first got my taste of acting in high school. in fact, while still in school, I was asked to do a screen test for a famous director...

Re: Do You Know Me?
Sounds like Lon McAllister to me. But then again, I am quite a fan of Home in Indiana, so maybe I'm reading too much into your clue.

Re: 10 fav Brit actors/actresses best film performances
Are my eyes deceiving me? Did I just go through this thread again and not see Edmund Gwenn ? I know some of you don't believe in Santa Claus anymore, but come on! Sometimes you have to believe even when common sense tells you not to. :? The range of characters he played in his movies makes him one o...

Re: 10 fav Brit actors/actresses best film performances
I just scanned this thread, but I didn't seem to see anyone mention the name of Alastair Sim . Am I the only Scroogephile here? (And don't say it's because he's Scottish. Scotland is a part of Great Britain - that makes him British in my book. If you want to limit it to England, then make it English...

Re: Loveliest Leading Lady in A TV Series
Hi CharlieT! Love the avatar, is that you? I have a good friend who takes her granddaughter, and the two of them are registered (?) clowns, they go to Children's Mercy Hospital here. No, that's not me. It is a picture of a local TV personality from my youth who had a show on every afternoon and Sat...

Re: Loveliest Leading Lady in A TV Series
I'd have to go with Donna Reed in "The Donna Reed Show".

Re: Someone's having a birthday!
Thanks to all. It was a much better one than last year. I'm getting a little grief from old classmates for hitting the big 60, but I guess I'm a little guilty of giving it to them, too. An older friend told me wait until I hit 70. I told her that I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes... and thanks, Wendy for the video. Home In Indiana is one of my favorites because of its home town connections.

Re: What are you reading?
Just finished "The Old Curiousity Shop" by Dickens and started "Innocents Abroad" by Twain. I added a BBC series production of "The Old Curiousity Shop" to my Netflix queue to compare and contrast. Gosh, I love my nook.

Re: What are you reading?
Since I got my nookreader for Christmas, I've read A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens and am almost through A Connecticutt Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Twain. I'm trying to read most of the classics that I missed when I was younger.

Re: What are you reading?
Charlie, how great to see you posting! I have heard many good things about In "The Fullness of Time" and wondered if it changed your perception of Warren G. Harding? Did it make you want to read more about him and his administration? Thanks for mentioning this book. I will look for it at ...

Re: What are you reading?
Just finished reading "In The Fullness of Time" by Vincent Nicolosi. It's an historical novel of the mysteries surrounding the Harding presidency and death through the reminiscences of one of his "gang" at the time of President Kennedy's assassination. It is written by a native o...

Re: What are you reading?
Just read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played With Fire . I enjoyed both books, although dealing with the Swedish names and locations can distract from following the plot if you let it. Then I watched both movies through Netflix. Both were good, but (since they were subtitled in ...
