Re: Random thoughts on Butch and the Kid and the Wild Bunch
In reading different views about Peckinpah and watching the bonus material which I rented, I am starting to get the idea that although The Wild Bunch is the most famous of Peck's works, it is not the most representative, nor even the greatest. Maybe his life was his greatest work.... not sure...Roge...

Stuart-
I have not seen this show for years, but remember it fondly. It showed in odd time slots here in the U.S., like on Saturday afternoons.
I always thought the two actors were great together, they seemed to have the same sense of humor.

Re: Gilbert Roland - A Latin Performer Unbounded
Lynn, I am so glad you mentioned Bullfighter and the Lady , which is one of my favorites for the extraordinary portrayal of Mexico and it's people. It has some of the most beautiful bullfighting sequences ever filmed. I love it, though, for exactly the reason you mentioned. The relationship between ...

Re: THE MENS ROOM
This is fascinating stuff, I am glad I ventured into The Men's Room. I just couldn't resist, with a name like that! I think most women have an urge to find out what's behind that male-only stuff. The discussion here has been illuminating for me, a female, especially since I didn't know which of you ...

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
Charliechaplinfan- I think Chaplin was very brave at a time when people were running for cover, hiding their heads in the sand... it took some guts for him to step up, put himself out there for the world to see and use the power that he had to say, "Enough is enough". He knew he was a targ...

Re: Bit Players We Love
Oh my gosh, I forgot to say how happy I am that you mentioned Charles Lane! He has always been a favorite, and was probably the first bit player I ever knew, since he showed up on nearly every TV show ever made. I cried the day he died.....he was like a friend of the family.

Re: Bit Players We Love
Oh, gosh, this is a dream topic! I agree with MissG - it's gotta have been a good thing. Some of us out here in the dark have noticed and remembered. Your story of Byron Foulger and Dorothy Adams reminded me of another couple, bit players (probably Foulger's name reminded me) Fritz Feld and Virginia...

Re: ,The Best Character Actors?
What does best really mean? Most versatile? Most able to move me emotionally? The actor or actress I most like to see? The one who can most easily steal a scene? In the end, after much thought, I picked actors who could actually make me cry at the same time that they make me laugh. Oscar Homolka Fel...

Re: Random thoughts on Butch and the Kid and the Wild Bunch
That was a great reply, Bryce, and I think we may actually agree on most of the movie, if I've read you right, for instance: The editing (and its subsequent effect) is a matter of taste but, like most of Peckinpah's editing technique, it has been diluted down to at best irrelevancy and at worst accu...
