Re: Aa realization about lady singers
. I still have never seen an episode of American Idol but today on The View, they discussed a contestant who the five women seemed to think was definitely going to be someone to be heard from. They played a clip of her 'singing' style and although I agree she does do well when Just singing. Why doe...

Re: Aa realization about lady singers
. Yes, Mary Kate , I am aware of Allison Krauss and do like her a lot. I thought you might be, but I played it safe, because once when I mentioned her to some people at work they looked at me like I was from outer space. It kind of surprised me; I had thought she was fairly well known. .I al...

As someone who grew up with the Disney shows and movies (not original run, however), I'm also sad to hear of her passing... but with the following in mind...

Re: Aa realization about lady singers
I think I'll have to agree. I can't stand the --- what is it called anyway? modern pop? --- style of alternatively screaming through your nose or mumbling through your nose. Very little tonal quality there. And plenty of men do it too. Oh, for the pop singers of yesteryear! (Jo Stafford, Andy Willia...

Re: Ben Johnson
Mary-Kate, that's so fantastic when you find these scenes of Ben doubling in movies that are not on his IMDB filmography. He said in interviews he did lots of doubling for Bill Elliott so I'm not at all surprised there is a lot more out there. It's a lot of fun trying to spot him, glad you think so...

"Francis Benjamin Johnson Junior! If I've told you once, I've told you a million times -- don't ride that pony up on the porch!" "Okay, Ma!" :) (My imaginary dialogue recreation.) ;) This photo is in Tom Thurman's wonderful documentary, Ben Johnson: Third Cowboy on the Right. :)...

Re: Richard III remains confirmed
I even like it when Basil Rathbone does it as Sherlock Holmes! It was a highpoint in the series! Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon (1942) is my favorite of the Holmes vs. the Nazis films. Not just due to the ending speech, though. :w...

Mary-Kate, your description of Milton Parsons as "spectral" is just perfect. He always looked deader than his "clients", lol. Thanks, and I in turn couldn't agree more with your remark about Milton and his "clients". http://www.wearysloth.com/Gallery/ActorsP/279...

Dale Robertson - R.I.P
I feel bad for going off-topic, so here's an American Cowboy magazine article (Jul-Aug 2002) to get me back on track (the whole piece is on Google, so I think it's okay for me to post it here.) http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/i333/Maricatrin/Dale%20Roberstson/page1_zpsfa31616d.jpg http://i1088.p...

Re: Gone With or Without fanfare
Duh (slaps palm to head), I knew there had to be a reason. Cimarron City was a very short lived western series starring George Montgomery, John Smith, and Audrey Totter. (Dan Blocker, after playing a villain named Tiny in the second episode, subsequently joined the cast as a good guy named Ti...
