I "discovered" this movie about 18 months ago, and it shot to the top of my favorite movies list. I even purchased the book at Amazon, it is so old, the pages are brittle. From beginning to end, "Don't let's ask for the moon...we have the stars".... at least a half box of tissues...

Hands down (for me) is "Our Vines Have Tender Grapes" (1945) He put such feeling and tenderness into the part, you just have to believe he was really like that. And considering all the bad guys he portrayed, what a fabulous actor!

Has anyone ever seen "The Captive Heart" with Michael Redgrave? It is the best POW movie I have ever watched. I purchased a rather miserable copy of it from Amazon last year. It is shown infrequently on the History Channel, and if you ever spot it, watch it!

Judith, have you ever seen the episode of "Friends", where Phoebe and the crew are watching "Old Yeller"? At the crucial moment at the end, Phoebs gets up and turns off the tv. Seems her mom always did that, and she is completely clueless as to the real ending. tooooo funny. :lol:

This isn't useless info, it adds a richness to history. Just as we love to hear "inside information" about the stars, stories like this make the people we watch seem much more real.
