"Blessed are the peacemakers."

Too bad the Islamic fundamentalists don't share that same belief.

Christians often "get messages" from God. This is usually achieved through prayer.

I think it's a great idea too. Do we do it overnight or allow a couple of days to get it done?

My kids love Mel Brooks and enjoyed "Silent Movie." The only problem with it is parts of it are so time stamped. Once I explained to them what "Pong" was and who "Marcel Marceau" is it moved along nicely. That also may be part of the problem with "High Anxiety.&quo...

The Marx Brothers are favorites in my house. Both of my teenagers love them (especially "Horse Feathers".) When we get a chance for a family movie night their name will almost always come up. Back in high school for our "Senior Will" a friend left me a private viewing of "Du...

Anne: I saw "Trouble Along The Way" years and years ago but it's one I remember because it was so unusual for Wayne, especially at this point in his career. (BTW, The Westerns channel usually show "The Searchers" in pan/scan, but it's worth seeing in any format.) Rented "Bab...

I forgot to "cue chorus" when I mentioned Randolph Scott (cue chorus!)

"The Professionals" is a film I've found interesting for the cast. It's a pretty interesting story but there are some big names and they're all pretty good together.

I've been enjoying him recently in some Randoloph Scott westerns. "Hangman's Knot", "Seven Men From Now" and my favorite bad guy in "Bad Day At Black Rock." Also really enjoyed him in his offbeat role in "Donovan's Reef." When he was bad he was among the badde...

Mike: You probably know but (just in case) two got to be in a western, even if it was only a TV western. Ed Harris was in "The New Riders of The Purple Sage" and Sam Shepherd was in a really offbeat western called "Purgatory." Both of these were courtesy of TNT. They would have b...

Duke and Leo Gordon had a prior meeting in "Hondo." He played Geraldine Page's husband who was barely in the picture before their fight scene. Your mentioning Duke shoving that shotgun in Gordon's belly reminded me I just saw the scene the other night when a friend brought the mud fight sc...

If America needed one there would be one. People would get together and do it. There must not be enough real interest.

Lynn: My thought, such as it is, would be that Stoddard wouldn't have realized the impact until after he had become a senator and probably well into his career. I doubt that he thought Hallie enjoyed him being in politics. He may have thought she enjoyed the social standing and income provided. That...

Didn't Wayne use the term "pilgrim" in "Liberty Valance"? (I'm not really sure.)
