You know, I have been looking for months for a copy of THE TAMARIND SEED - in fact, I believe Miss G and I were chatting about that film way back in the old days on the TCM board. In any event, I can't seem to find a copy of this film, which is tres annoying - especially since I am of the firm opini...

Thanks very much, Chris. I don't get the Westerns Channel, so yeah, if it comes on there again I'd much appreciate it if you could grab it! :) I'd gladly trade for it or reimburse your expense or whatever.

Anyone have these?

If any of you guys have any of these, I'd love to trade for them!: MAN IN POSSESSION (1931) - Robert Montgomery LOVE IN THE ROUGH (1930) - Robert Montgomery LOVERS COURAGEOUS (1932) - Robert Montgomery THE EMPEROR'S CANDLESTICKS (1937) - William Powell (need a good copy of this one - mine has the cr...

I think that if it serves the story, some violence is okay. I mean, in a gangster film, for example, you have to have a few guys getting bumped off here and there. Or in a really good war movie, of course you are gonna have some violent deaths - every time I watch PLATOON (1986), for example, I can'...

I think several people feel as you do Hollis - I know I certainly do. I think that this is a good group - and one in which not only hard knowledge of films is considered to be an asset. Everyone has something to contribute here. There is not a single person who doesn't give more than they take from ...

The funny thing about it is, if you only know her from MSW, to see her in her prime as a young girl in things like Gaslight and especially The Harvey Girls , is a real shocker to realize how lovely she was. Maybe being so nice is what has kept her on top for so long!!!??? One would like to hope. Bu...

^ Yes. I agree. You know, even once I know about her movie career, I *still* didn't know about her Broadway career for a while. I only found out about that when I watched her Private Screenings.

By the way, Captain Jack was in Friday night's episode of Doctor Who. Was a pretty good episode, too! :) Haven't watched Saturday night's Torchwood though - it's still sitting on the TiVo.

Wow! I had no idea about this! I remember watching and liking that show as a child, but I wasn't into classic film then, so I didn't know any classic film actors. In fact, for many years the only thing I associated with Angela Lansbury herself was MSW. I was stunned when I saw GASLIGHT for the...

I've had my October guide for about 10 days now, minimum.

I live in Atlanta, though, and all mail from Florida comes through here. I expect they send them from Florida - and not from downtown...

^ Well, I was quite looking forward to a few of those Andy Hardy films - there are a few that TCM airs regularly...but several of these are ones they don't run as frequently, and I would have liked to have had them.

Instead I got all films I'd already seen.

I'm a Doctor Who fan and so have been watching Torchwood , of course. We have only had two episodes so far so I'm not ready to make a final judgment...but I have to say that so far, it is nowhere near the quality of Doctor Who . My British friends in the scifi world confirm this - they have seen the...

^ I am becoming PAST annoyed about all of the substitutions. It does ABSOLUTELY no good to pay good money for a subscription to NOW PLAYING when there are just TONS of changes each month. Obviously, all of us are okay with the schedule changing for stuff like Jane Wyman's passing...or the odd film h...
