Hello, I don't know about shows I watch having no redeeming value, but I will tell you about some television things I would not admit watching to anybody...face to face. Would you believe? Several years ago, I would rush home from work to catch that heroic and literate Jack Russell Terrier... Wishbo...

Talking about Gloria Grahame...have you watched her in the film The Man Who Never Was (1956)? The movie is a dramatization of a bit of real World War II history...not film noir. The reason I am asking is...Ms. Grahame looks odd in this film. I mean, her face is shiny. No one else in the movie has a ...

Hello, Off topic here, but reading about Brian Aherne...well, I have to reply with something. Brian Aherne is an underrated actor, but his big screen performances are sometimes good and sometimes not so good. For instance, the best Brian Aherne performance I have watched is Aherne teamed with Helen ...

Capote and High Fidelity
Capote is good not only because of the terrific performance by Philip Seymour Hoffmann, but also the movie lacks the "kitchen sink" approach to plot. I like the fact screenwriter Dan Futterman stayed focused on the relationship between Truman Capote and Perry Smith. Capote could have so e...

Please think about purchasing Ealing Studios movies on dvd.
Hello, IMDB lists about 95 Ealing Studios movies, released from 1939 to 1959. You know how many Ealing movies are on dvd (Region 1)? Not many...maybe, twenty. I just finished watching The Maggie , one of five movies included with the box set of Ealing Studios Comedy Collection. The other four movies...

My reply regards Rafter Romance.
Hello, I do have Rafter Romance...missing approximately 15 to 30 seconds. My dvd of Rafter Romance spans two different original recordings. I looked at the dvd and the missing few seconds are not very noticeable. Anyway, I will burn you a dvd for free if you e-mail me your address. Are you Region 1 ...

I found Whit...he's in Indiana.
Hello, Last night, I watched The Desperate Hours (1955)...starring Humphrey Bogart. During the opening credit roll, I noticed Whit Bissell as a cast member. I said to my wife, "Whit Bissell". Probably because I only said the name, "Whit Bissell"...she replied, "what the heck...
