Re: What are you listening to?
I have been listening to a lot of "waterfont dining" recently. Their music and these videos really evoke beautiful dreamlike feelings of nostalgia for me. It's like being wrapped in a blanket of peace and safety. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tjyvp3OT_9M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-...

Re: What are you listening to?
As soon as I started listening to this, I immediately thought of "Gabriel" by the band Ash. Maybe you'd like this song as well, as it has a very similar sound, in my opinion.

Re: Questions about Film Restorations
Yeah, I am sure some of these questions could be answered by Googling. Apologies. I have been quite scattered today.

Questions about Film Restorations
These may be incredibly silly and naive questions, so I apologize in advance. But hey, everyone has to start somewhere! Ever since seeing Journey's End (1930), I have been hoping to see a restored version of it. Personally, I think it's a very important film for many reasons, and the only available ...

Re: Roy Scheider
I think that he should have won the Oscar for All That Jazz. He was a very good actor, a very complex onscreen presence and I wish that his career had turned out better than the way it did, slowly fading after the mid 80s. I completely agree. Here is an interesting snippet of an interview in which ...

Re: Roy Scheider
Wow, I have heard quite a few people say good things about 52 Pick-Up . I've yet to see it, as it sounded too sleazy for my taste, but maybe I'll give it a try. I've been pleasantly surprised in the past when I watched movies I didn't expect to like. Plus, any movie with Roy Scheider in it is at lea...

Re: Roy Scheider
I liked Scheider too. He was quite good in All That Jazz and Sorcerer is something of a cult favorite. Marathon Man was a decent role for him in a supporting capacity as well. Agreed! After a few viewings, I ended up really liking Sorcerer and am still fascinated by the film. It's one I am probably...

Re: "You look a lot like ....
Hopefully this is the right thread for this. I was watching Sorcerer (1977) and I thought that the actor in the front passenger seat in this scene looks a lot like Eddie Muller.

Roy Scheider
Ever since seeing TCM's The French Connection and The Seven-Ups double feature in January or February, I have been absolutely captivated by Roy Scheider. Believe it or not, those were the first films I had ever seen him in. Since then, I've been trying to watch every movie of his I can get my hands ...
