Re: Thankful

Thank you to Alison and Uncle Stevie's recipes...sounds like a great weekend to me! I have been offline for a bit, but glad to be back and hear about all your Thanksgivings. My heart goes out to those who had a rough time and those who were missing family members. My husband's family didn't get toge...

Re: WHAT SILENTS & PRE-CODES HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?

This afternoon I watched Jeanne Eagels, not itself a precode but the actress herself a star of early film. How much of her life did it miss out and how much did it rewrite. I must find out. ccf- I believe this movie story is mostly fictionalized. (For example, she started in a touring stage co., no...

Re: I Am Changing My Passion In Musicals

Congratulations on your expansion and good luck collecting your added faves. Myself, I am a huge fan of Rogers and Blondell, and 30s musicals in general.

Re: WHAT SILENTS & PRE-CODES HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?

I've never seen this but have heard of it. It is a Sherlock Holmes parrody and since I'm on another Holmes/Watson jag, I may have to look for it. The Goucho sounds like fun.

Re: PBS Mystery

Oops, sorry. Rupert Graves is Lestrade.
At least I didn't confuse him with Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley!

Re: PBS Mystery

Did anyone else enjoy Sherlock? I was all caught up in it and looking forward to weekly installments, and the season was only 3 episodes with more being made in the spring. It is set in modern London, which I didn't know if I would like; I am a fan of the Victorian mystery. However, it truly seems t...

Re: To Dream of Dogs

Wendy, I'm sure you appreciate and deserve that rest after relentless care-giving. It creeps up on us, doesn't it? You're doing a little bit, then doing a lot, and before you know it you're consumed. Tippi was blessed to have such a wonderful family and I know you feel blessed to have had her in the...

Re: To Dream of Dogs

Wendy, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't believe you've had this loss...I've been dreading one as Rosa did not have a very good weekend. Just today I was going to come home and talk to my husband about what to do and when I pulled up, there she was in the yard walking around with him. I couldn't ...

Fernando, Your weekend sounds amazing! Re: the discrimination described about family status, I can't believe the prying questions family, friends, aqaintances and strangers alike will be brave enough to ask. It seems no answer ever satisfies anyone and they offer weird advise and admonishments about...
