Re: John Ford
OH my goodness me, Mr. Movieman.. you have busted me out bawlin' over some of the things you've expressed here, sir. I love how you have shown each man in his role for the birth/protection and even future care of the baby. This story is one of those "greatness thrust upon them" moments for...

Re: John Ford
For me, though, it's right up there among Ford's best movies. Though it isn't as complex as some of his greatest works, I just don't care. There is room in any man's oeuvre for a sweet story filmed without embarrassment. It always touches me deeply, no matter when I see it, or how many times. This ...

Re: To Dream of Dogs
Ha! She keeps saying, "But we've never had two dogs at the same time ...." Ha.. Jackie. The kidling tries stuff like that on me now and then because OH me.. does she love dogs. She can't pass by a "free" dog sign (in a parking lot) or an animal shelter or pet store without want ...

Re: Best and Worst Lines in Movie History
My most favorite movie line of all time is also one I think would be a contender for one of the best ever movie lines in history (because I think when you take this line in context.. it has to be one of the most profound statements about human nature ever spoken on film). Jamie from Empire of the Su...

Re: Summer TV shows
Well.. it's finally done.. and it ended well. I am going to miss Brenda Leigh.. but I have to say.. she went out in style. (and a good ending for Gabriel too.. not what I thought it would be.. but a good resolution all the same) I'm going to miss her on Monday nights.. not sure how MC will hold up.....

Re: Summer TV shows
Hmmm.. Ms C.. you have me wondering. I did not get the same impression about Fritz that you did. I figured he'd been with her at the hotel.. but had been trying to work and pick up their "normal" life.. all but going home, ever since they got back. They had Joel (the cat) at some sort of k...

Re: Summer TV shows
Ms Cutter... I have been tossing around that same idea about Gabriel (perhaps dying) too.. I can see a couple of scenarios where it might go that way, in fact. It WOULD restore his honor (if he were to die in the line of duty.. maybe protecting someone) but I don't know if they would put us all thro...

A 15 minute rain....geesh. My neighbors to the North are getting everything we didn't....can I take back that yeee haw???? We are pretty much due east of you guys, neighbor. (other side of the state line) so we got more or less the same. My folks live up north of the river. It looked on tv like the...

Re: Summer TV shows
I think I cried more at the end of THIS show than I did last week. Very emotional, especially at the end. As for the mole.. it played out like I was thinking it would, ulitmately. (I kept going back and forth over time.. but over the last week had more or less narrowed it down to the way it played o...

Re: The whiny thread
Oh me, Miss Finnie. So very sorry to hear of your mishap. WIll hope for a very speedy recovery. My husband has a "joke" about rugs.. the kind that you put out here and there.. and even the larger area rug kind. If they are too small to call "carpet" and not installed, as far as h...

Re: 'Round the World Weather Report
I remember being stuck in traffic on the highway in a volkswagen (no AC) in the middle of Kansas on a day when it was 104 degrees. That was bad enough Ha.. been there, done that, (wrote a book about it, made it into a min-series and Heather Locklear played ME) Only it was an '83 Ford Escort i...

Re: She Wore a Yellow Ribbon
Just enjoyed getting to see SWAYR again tonight.. it's been a while since I saw it last.. but still as good as ever. And I even caught two really sweet moments I NEVER noticed before. Both from Capt. Brittles as he is out with the troops.. he gives gentle affectionate "pats" to both women....

Re: Summer TV shows
With his quiet gravitas, I think Anthony Dennison (whom I have adored since his stint years ago on Wiseguy is the unsung hero of the team but I enjoy each character and they play off each other very well! They dropped a major clue last week about the leak and I'm looking forward to seeing how that ...
