I have seen this movie several times, and its always such a pleasure. The young people in this one were wonderful actors, and you could feel they really got into their parts and the whole purpose for the film. I would say the ending sequence of the Julius Cesar contest is always entertaining. I know...

re: moirafinnie

:D Yes, she was giving a good, sharp cut of her eyes to the scary waves! Like me, she doesn't care much for the water. She did wade in the little sand bar pools, but that's about it.

She's just a little spoiled

Hi Carol! I was going to post this over on the other board, but I decided to post it here: http://s113.photobucket.com/albums/n240/crosbyana/beach002.png It's a pic of my little dog with her swimsuit on :D Ain't she somethin'? Happy Fourth and Canada Day to you, too! Just for the record, those aren'...

Powell, no matter what comical situation he is in, always has such class... His whole look is just so classic, with those beautiful eyes and boyish but intelligent mug. I've also heard only positive things about him and his personal life. I just love his role in the Thin Man series - One of his best...

Thanks to Chris for the reminder, I'm also stoked that they are giving us a day of Keaton films (Aug. 30) during "Summer Under The Stars." Seems they have chosen alot of Keaton works with MGM for that day... I really like Keaton's face. I think he's quite handsome, and I think that even wh...

And The Oscar Goes To...

Perhaps this will be fun, time consuming, but fun. I'm not sure if a thread lke this has been started over at the 'mother board' (probably has), but either way I'll go ahead with it. This is your opportunity to give your own version of the Academy Awards, classic movie style. Some of the categories ...

My tastes are sorta limited (as is my knowledge :P ), so I gave 25 spots to the men and the same to the ladies. I apologize if I happened to repeat any or mispell any! And all are in order of importance... Men : 1. Buster Keaton 2. William Powell 3. Robert Montgomery 4. Lew Ayres 5. Bob Hope 6. Bing...

Re: Memorial Day Thanks

I would like to say thanks to all our soldiers in the US Military--veterans and those currently serving. Thank you for all you have done for this country and God bless you. Thanks for the thread, Mr. Arkadin. Thanks to all those who make it possible for me to speak freely, and live the way I see be...

City Lights (1930) If you don't cry at the end of this film there is something wrong with you! I rented this from the library since I missed it last time it was on TCM. I was absolutely inconsoleable by the end of the film... It's the most powerful and emotional ending sequence I have ever seen.

Hello Carol! Thank you so much, I'm glad you are here. Chris is so nice  Just portraits, I rarely do anything else I'm afraid. I used to draw animals and caracatures, but not so much now.

Thanks to the both of you, as always. How long did it take me? Too long... I think it was a little less than 15 hours (but very nerve racking). Thanks, Chris, for the compliment on the hair. I believe that was one the hardest parts of the whole portrait, I wanted to give the pic justice. My g...
