Red-Headed Woman wins my vote. Babyface is just too depressing and for some reason, RHW makes me laugh. It's just my demented pre-code sense of humor, I guess. Yes, Chester Morris is sort of, well, creepy, but who could resist Una Merkel as a best pal? Another of my favorites of Jean's is Girl From...

Mongo - I'm really enjoying this thread. Thanks for sharing with all of us. Only one picture I didn't care for, back on page one: June and Dick playing house. Don't they just look cozy-wozy? Yech. They look like they got everything they wished for and were bored to death with it. Larry - is there an...

I couldn't agree more! As much fun as Mr. Osborne is having, I'm having twice as much. Admit it; who else was laughing when she got rid of the body? I thoroughly enjoyed Mandalay and applauded the ending saying, "Now that's a movie!"

It's a very interesting phenomenon: I was born with very dark brown, almost black hair. But lately, every six weeks or so, my hair seems to be getting lighter brown, and now has a definite reddish cast to it. Funny thing -- I seem to notice it the most the day after I visit my hairdresser. Wonder w...

Garbo comes to mind as the most widely known, and I think her success in the switch to talkies is especially interesting considering her accent. I think the two who were the best at it were Harlow and Lombard, both cut short in the prime of their lives. Who knows how much more they could have done? ...

Interesting about the eye color; I didn't notice some were different. The hair is fabulous. Not many girls can wear a head of hair like that, can they? Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos. B

I don't know much about colorization at all. How do you determine shades of eye color?
Curiously,

Great list - and beautiful colorization, IMO.

I especially loved the ones of Laura LaPlante. Did you know that was Spencer Tracy's nickname for Katherine Hepburn? I'm not sure why...anyone know?

My Man Godfrey (1936) will be airing on October 13, at 8:00 p.m. This is very fortunate as the last few times it was on the schedule it was replaced due to rights problems. For those who've never seen it before, I highly recommend this screwball comedy with it's fabulous family. "Life in this ...

To Myrna - I did record Cynara , but am not sure about copying it. Let me know if you don't have any luck but I'm not your best bet on that due to my gremlin status and lack of time. You might check in on the DVD trading thread. Re: Cynara - Did anyone catch Robert Ryan's bit part in it? I missed hi...

Yes, RO did tell about t e poem. While I got the gist that it referred to obsession, I sure didn't know about the underage girl or blue eyes or Horace. hmmm. I'm off on the web to search for the poem now, you've got me curious. I'll let the rest of you know where I find it. THanks for the extra info...

I have indeed enjoyed the Star of the Month, Kay Francis. I've recorded some to savor later and watched a few as they were broadcast. I've seen some of her movies in the past, but so many run to the darker side that they don't end up in my watch over-and-over-and-over pile of DVDs. I truly appreciat...

Bob Dylan is a favorite...I wasn't quite old enough to appreciate his lyrics when they were new, but I appreciate them now. I think "Tangled Up in Blue" is one of the most romantic songs ever written. Bob said it's the song that took him 10 years to live and 2 years to write. When I feelin...

OF course... The Gay Divorcee is my favorite of all the Fred and Ginger movies. (Actually, not only is it my favorite Fred-movie; it's my favorite movie of all time...all genres...all formats.) As to how much kissing Fred and Ginger did, I've been in a discussion about this before and was surprised...
