Moira - I had no interest in the TCM Morlock Blog's until it was announced that you would be participating, and after looking around there a bit, IMO your's are the best of the bunch. My goodness woman - such extensively researched and anectdote filled articles! The Garden of Allah - I always wanted...

Is this a musical? It sounds so familiar, but I can't quite place it.

Hi Hollis - Don't you just get a tingling feeling all over when you get to view a great film like this for the first time? I know I do! Glad you got to see this today; I missed it but have seen it in the past. It is a very unusual film, with one of my favorites, John Garfield in the lead. Now, this ...

And I started out the day in such a good mood - this is such sad news. I was so disheartened when I learned she had Parkinson's - my dad was afflicted with this and it is such a suffering end for anyone. At first, I only saw her in King and I and Affair to Remember, and thought her lovely and elegan...

You ain't heard nothin' yet!

I watched this movie for the first time in decades, and just had a few observations/comments. Very impressed with the restoration work, especially the soundtrack - there no longer seemed to be the jarring segues into the "talkie" portions that I remembered; and the cleaned up visuals make ...

Did anyone see the Vitaphone shorts after The Jazz Singer last night? I really enjoyed them. I loved, loved, LOVED these! The Foy's sure were a talented bunch, and Eddie Jr.'s antics were a highlight - much easier to watch him do this schtick when he is young. But weren't they addressing eash other...

Sorry John - no clue. I'm sure I'd have better luck with films that fall between 1935-1965, but those soundtracks are more scarce than recent films.

"Letter from an Unknown Woman" is on my top five list. A haunting masterpiece and "The Constant Nymph" is my second favorite Fontaine film. Both deal with the same subject: Unrequited, intense love. feaito - yes, I confess this is the subject of the majority of my favorite films...

I just recently received my first PM (thanks Moira!) and am not sure if my reply has gone through. Firstly, I had it composed and then clicked on preview, and it dissapeared. So I re-typed it and hit send; now I'm seeing it in my outbox, rather than under sent items. Is this normal? Moira - did my m...

Constant Nymph (1943)

I was most surprised to see a brief clip of this film in the documentary I'm watching about EW Korngold. Opinions seem to be that this is one of his finest scores, and it is available on a soundtrack recording. I had no idea of this, as in 30+ years of classic film viewing, I have never seen this fi...

OK - this is just a wild guess, but based upon the guitar at the beginning, could it be Deliverance?
