Tallulah Bankhead
Tallulah Bankhead - what a name! I have to admit this was what made me interested in her - her first name. I found it actually pretty amusing: Tal-Lu-Lah. This name guaranteed to be remembered. The first time I have seen her in a movie was in The Devil and the Deep with Gary Cooper. I found her to b...

Re: ,The Best Character Actors?
Nice list, Libertine! I like that you put Orson and Bette on it, who both played leads, but in a very character oriented way. Haha, well, I did that on purpose, because, not always a character- is a supporting actor... though most of the times it's that way, isn't it? Usually the supporting ...

Marlene Dietrich - very long and perfect shape. In 1935 http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb192/leaudlunique/marlene/th_21.jpg In 1961-1962 http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb192/leaudlunique/marlene/th_legs01.jpg "Darling, the legs aren't so beautiful, I just know what to do with them."

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
I started to watch all of Marlene Dietrich's films in chronological order, so today I watched Blonde Venus. So far it's the "worst" of the movies she made with von Sternberg. This one was also the first flop for them. Marlene is Marlene, she does look like  too often. It makes me la...

Re: Your Favorite Foreign Film?
You know, I literally grew up with foreign movies, but there are some I like and some I don't... I often have a hard time with stuff by Godard.. it's probably too arty for me. I don't know, I need a story, and he hardly can provide one.
Belle de jour... I still wonder what was in the box.

Re: Your Favorite Foreign Film?
I was wondering when the definition of "foreign film" was going to come up. :D That's really a good question. However, I suppose everything that is not from the US and the UK maybe? Amelié Poulain Belle de Jour Umberto D Baiser volés Domicile conjugal L'amour en fuite La nuit americaine I...

Re: Stars who have played Royality more the once
I always found it fascinating when actors played the same character which was based on a real person in two different movies, which have nothing to do with each other. Like when Bette Davis portrayed Elizabeth I. in 1939 and later in 1955. Or Charles Laughton as Henry VIII. in 1933 and again in 1953...

Hello everybody!
Being new here, I just thought I'll stop by to introduce myself a bit and say hello to all of you. First of all, I hope to have finally found a place where people are still able and willing to talk about films and film-stars, as there are really not many places where "fans" are inte...
