Re: THE MAGICIAN (1926) Tonight! TCM debut!

Anybody saw it? Any reviews? I'm deadly curious...Not everyday you get to see an Ingram picture! I did. It's a lesser Ingram, if there is such a thing. I confess, I'm not a big fan of Alice Terry, I find her pretty in her way but deadly dull. Wegener mugged shamelessly, but he was fun. Some good sc...

Re: Mr. Brent

Ruth Chattterton ( aka Lily Turner ) is a honey. :D I recorded that this morning as well as Keyhole, neither film I've seen. What could be better, really? Kay Fwancis & George Brent and Ruth Chatterton and George Brent? Augh! Failure. Back to check the TCM schedule for repeats.

Cast my vote for Place in the Sun. The sequence at Lake Tahoe where George is chasing Angela and carries her to the lake to toss her in the water. He's wearing riding breeches and boots in that scene.

Re: *CANDIDS*

Dean Stockwell is one of my favorites - his down to earth approach to acting has always made me like him. I watch him young, old or anything in between happily. He was about the cutest boy you could ever see, except for maybe Dickie Moore. Add to that short list, Scotty Beckett. I still wish he'd n...

The Bad Sleep Well, Yojimbo, Sanjuro, oh well, don't ask me, I'd say watch everything you can (as I will be). I love Kurosawa.

Re: Mary Astor

Beau Brummell bored the pants off me (figuratively speaking) but I'm there for the rest of the line up, a good many I've not seen before. I will always watch The Great Lie, it's such fun!

Re: THE RED SHOES (New restoration) UCLA Archive

This is what I've been waiting for for two years! The newly restored version of my absolute favorite film will be screened at the end of July at the UCLA Film Archive. I will be there for sure - just have to figure out what day I can make it down to LA. Jezzy, I came to the Oasis tonight to ensure ...

Yup and this happened 1 block from my apartment. Terrible, Gaynor never really recovered from this terrible accident.

Re: Gunsmoke or Bonanza...discuss

Neither, I was strictly a Friday Night Wild Wild West girl. I had a big girl crush on, wait for it..........Ross Martin and was charmed by Michael Dunn as Migelito Loveless. Robert Conrad was the Jame T. Kirk of the west and one waited to see how long he'd have a rip in his clothing, never those pan...
