I agree on Chaplin, actually our conversation here sparked more curiosity in me. He is an incredibly fascinating person, I always enjoy reading more about him. I think not only was he himself in images, but also when the film was rolling. Sure, he may have been in character, but I think he put so mu...

8) I love talking about art and photography, now that is my real passion (photography). I've never considered myself a real artist, I don't think I am. I simply take an image and copy it. I used to do cartoons, which led to characatures (sp?)... I always felt like those were my only true renderings,...

Speaking of which, Gene Kelly is such a ham. Like at the end of one of his dances, and he makes that wide-eyed, grinning face? Such a HAM! But I love him! There's no denying... Gene is the ultimate ham! I remember watching Take Me Out To The Ballgame and they began the Irish dances at the clam bake...

Interestingly, I like his early stuff and his later stuff better than his mid-career stuff...which is what everyone seems to love. Hmmm... That's exactly the way I feel. I love movies like Holiday (1938) or his really early She Done Him Wrong (1933) with Mae West. Then I basically could skip throug...

It is hard to believe Gary playing a gangster, but I couldn't believe seeing him in The Westerner that he could play a convincing professor, but he certainly does in Ball Of Fire  I love Franchot Tone, too... He really is a scene stealer, even as he got older. You're absolutely right, he stole...

I'e been getting some therough Netflix and it looks like they come from a complete set of Keaton films. If I remember from Amazon it's in the $150 range. This set also includes many of his short films which are also quite good and almost unheard of. Thanks for the info, Chris... I need to check tha...

Thanks, Sue Sue... All of you are so encouraging :) My family have always encouraged me to do art, but I have never wanted to get into it very deeply. :? It's interesting that you say there is something about his face that is difficult to capture. Because as someone who has spent ALOT of time workin...

When he walks into the room carrying that tray in MY MAN GODFREY when Carlo is jumping around the room like an ape...the expression on his face is PRICELESS. OMG, yes! That was the most hilarious look... I was shaking my head in agreement with him and he didn't even have to say anything! In fact, t...

Let's see if I can keep up with this Coop thread, the Coop fans are always so quick for me! First of all, Ball of Fire is one of my favorite Cooper movies, clearly for just the "Would you yum-me once more?" phrase... But also love For Whom The Bell Tolls , Sergeant York , The Western...

I won't try to hide it, I'm young. So there's going to be fan girl gushing in the paragraphs below, one of those moments when my age shows ;) 5. Lew Ayres. I just think he is gorgeous, kinda pitiful looking  His voice is wonderful, too; a good voice is always a plus. Favorite flick: Holiday , 1...

I love the "Gallery of Stars" thread started long ago at you know where, but it becomes increasingly difficult to sort through the many images posted there. I started avoiding the thread because it would take so long to download images I didn't even know if I wanted to look at (dial-up :ro...
