^ No, I've not had any time lately to mess around in Photoshop. :( Even the avatar I have right now was made for another board over a year ago. Although I do need to change it..... I need get get back to doing some desktops. I'd like to do another one for Gary Cooper...and I'd really LOVE to do one ...

Favorite Vampire Films - Your Suggestions
I'm not really that huge of a fan of horror...but for whatever reason, I do like vampires. I think it comes from watching so many years of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel . Anyway, I've seen DRACULA (1931) and some more recent vampire movies...but I was kind of curious about possible recommendati...

^ Humm...you must be more up-to-speed in RDA than I am, Anne. I thought he was never married. I do know that he dated a woman called Apryl Prose for some years and they had a daughter together...but I was not aware that he was ever married...or that his wife had passed away. How terrible. :( I reall...

^ Well, I think you probably have a better chance of seeing Michael Shanks than you do of seeing RDA. RDA is likely so wealthy that he never has to work again - between what he pulled down for all of those seasons of SG-1...plus what he pulled down for MacGuyver, I think he is likely set for life. I...

^ Well, I'm not talking about the serial-type films here. While I whole-heartedly agree that November in general will ROCK because of those, that is not really the issue I'm referring to here. This thread was intended to be about the issue of guest programmers...and if they really ARE guest programm...

Anne - Valentino was married twice and divorced from both women. The first, Jean Acker, was not really a marriage as she left him within hours of the marriage ceremony and the marriage was never consummated. The marriage to Natacha Rambova was real, and lasted about 4 years (less a few months). Vale...

Well first, I think some people might have misinterpreted my issue. I don't mind most of the guest programmers themselves (Kermit and other inanimate beings excepted. :P ) and sometimes I even quite like their comments. But Kermit highlights a particular suspicion I've been having for some time - th...

I'm not crazy about the new size because of the smaller fonts, but I guess I can live with it. It's going to be a pain in the rear though, having to get up and take the thing under the light to be able to read it. I was on the borderline with this before...but suspect this size cut has pushed me ove...

By the way, did anyone see a WWII film shown recently on either TCM or Fox - I think it was Task Force . Speaking of underrated -- Walter Brennan (co-starring with Cooper) played a Navy captain or something. Not an old coot, not an irrasciable oldster, but a real, everyday man - something we didn't...

^ I agree about Colin Ferguson. I think the contrast between this 'normal guy' and everyone else is what makes the show so great! And yes, Anne - Michael Shanks was a guest star in the second-to-last episode of the season, IIRC. He played an artist...with a bit of a secret. Not sure if he'll be back...

NOVEMBER: Guest Programmer Month
Well, I received my copy of NOW PLAYING in the mail yesterday. And wouldn't you know it: the main thing that sticks in my craw about this whole guest programmer month is prominently displayed on the cover - right SMACK in the middle of the front cover, in fact. A director's chair for Kermit the Frog...

Try posting regularly on a site where the average age of the users is younger than age 30. This will alert you, more than anything else I am aware of, to the appalling state of education in America today. I have met many online users in their 20's who cannot spell even reasonably well, nor do they h...

^ Surprisingly, however, he played a fair number of ministers. In NOTI, in THE SANDPIPER, and in BECKET. And in some films made much later - that Exorcist film...and one or two others where he plays a priest. It's not a huge number or anything...but many actors go through their entire careers withou...

I've never sat down and watched this end-to-end, but I've seen it twice while doing other things (burning films off of my DVD recorder), and so have probably seen about 90 - 95% of it. What I was struck by was just the pointlessness of the thing. It takes place at the very end of the war when there ...
