Re: Tribute to Kyle

Kyle was a great encouragement to me. When we were playing the TCM Programming Challenge. He offered suggestions and when I asked for his thoughts he always had time to share. He always had nice things to say about my contributions. He was very kind to me and I appreciated his friendship. I am sorry...

Don't recognize but a handful of names but Billie Burke's status made me laugh. Retired? Just for a little while.

I have wanted a good copy of this one. My current is a TCM airing. It is a family favorite.

Thanks for more stuff. Haven't caught another Cagney film recently but you keep bringing it and I'll follow along.

Re: Happy Anniversary, SSO!

I miss this place. Once is awhile I come by. With Facebook we don't have near the discussions we had here and that is too bad. While we get the occasional interview I wish we were here.

Re: James Cagney's pre-code films

I watched "Jimmy The Gent." Oddball comedy of sorts with Cagney running a business that finds "heirs" to fortunes that aren't supposed to have any. Bette Davis costars. Streetwise tough guy with a soft spot for Davis shows there is some charm to him all the while finding a way to...

Re: James Cagney's pre-code films

It's been awhile since I have seen most of them. I do recall enjoying watching pre-Cagney Cagney. There is enough of the later Cagney to see how he developed. When I found out he could dance, well, that was something quite different.

I will have to get busy if I am going to keep up but carry on.

Re: Someone's having a birthday!

Thanks to you both. It has been a lovely week so far with more to come. Turning 60 has been a bit of a jolt for me but I can say this has been the best one I have had for quite a few years. Family and friends, such as you two, have made it a fine week.

No. It could be very interesting. Clearly, he has feelings for her. Is it brotherly love or more? I think there is, at the very least, an intellectual love. On a level they "get" each other. If it had been a TV series it would be a real interesting part of the story line.

Re: Happy Anniversary!

We had a nice weekend with wonderful weather very much like the day we got married. A fine dinner and a quiet evening and looking forward to another year.
