Re: WHAT SILENTS & PRE-CODES HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?

I could never really get into Langdon's character. There are so many others who were better IMO, including Chaplin, Keaton, Lloyd, and Chase. My personal favorite of his was also "The Strong Man", which I thought was brilliant.

Re: Thelma Todd SUTS Day?

The best stuff is saved for prime time but if you have any interest in Charley Chase or Thelma's shorts with Zasu Pitts that is where I would look. These shorts are pretty rare. Some have been shown before but this is your chance to catch a bunch at once. I have seen one of her shorts with Zasu at ...

Re: The Good News Thread

Thanks Alison. I've my Mom's good genes to thank for looking younger. My cousin is nine years older than me and looks about my age, if that old.

I told Bruce that if he thinks I sound young when I'm talking with you, it's because you're a good influence. That shut him up. :)

Alison (charliechaplinfan) and Brenda (silentscreen) at the beautiful English country estate of Chatsworth- Derbyshire, England. Alison is just as I thought she'd be- a beautiful person. My brother says that people from the North country are known for their warmth and friendliness, and he's right! :...

Re: FRANK BORZAGE

Romance might have gone but where too? There are plenty of unashamed romance books in our book shops but they don't get turned into films, it's a pity. Still I can't see our currnt crop of stars in a romantic way, maybe we just know too much about them from the celeb mags, maybe we need the glamour...

Donna,

If your book will bring a whole new fan base for Rudy, think what an accomplishment you've made! :)

Re: FRANK BORZAGE

Alison,

I think the sad part is that Borzage is too good for today's audiences. Romance seems gone today. :(

Re: The Good News Thread

Alison, Very honored to meet you as well! You're just like your photos, but look ten years younger. Bruce liked you very much. He says Northerners are the most friendly and warm hearted sort. He liked you from the moment he first spoke with you on the phone, but what's not to love? :D Just got in la...
