Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
Heh, when I first watched it I wouldn't have gotten that. It was one of the movies that made me a fan of Cary Grant's early work, and I didn't know much about him yet.

Re: Favorite Quotes and Exchanges in Television Programs
Another gold mine of quotes is House MD, with the great Hugh Laurie. Patient: "Are you this rude to all your patients?" House: "Yes. Don't think you're special." Cameron: "Brandon's not ready for surgery..." House: OK, let's leave it a couple of weeks. He should be feeling better by then. Oh wait, w...

Re: Favorite Quotes and Exchanges in Television Programs
Wash is so intentionally funny, and Jayne is so obliviously funny. I'm not sure which one I like more.

Re: Favorite Quotes and Exchanges in Television Programs
It's just such a perfect show. Great casting, writing, and a very original concept. Fox completely killed any momentum it could have built up by airing it out of order, which didn't allow character development to move forward coherently. Then they didn't even air the last episode (or maybe much late...

Re: Favorite Quotes and Exchanges in Television Programs
Oh, more Firefly quotes. :) Mal: You wanna tell me how come there’s a statue here, lookin’ at me like I owe him something? Jayne: Wishin’ I could, cap’n. Mal: No, seriously, Jayne, you want to tell me–? Jayne: Look, Mal, I got no ruttin’ idea. I was here a few years back, like I said. Pulled a secon...

Re: Vote for Your Favorite Movie Quotes for the Banner
It's a very good one. I think we should do some behind the scenes type banners with directors too. That's an interesting idea.

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
Firefly is one of my favorite shows of all time. It's always saddened me we only got so few episodes out of such a great concept and cast (I'm assuming you know Serenity is the final act from a TV series. If not, you must watch it!). I'm glad Whedon was able to make Serenity to wrap up the story, fo...

The Groundhog Day banner is courtesy of Professional Tourist. Even though it's a few days early it was too good to wait. We'll have a Groundhog weekend!

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
I watched a pair of Carole Lombard films today, unintentionally watching her marry Chester Morris twice in one afternoon. :) Sinners in the Sun has the pair each going off with the wrong person, she with a rich philanderer and he with a wealthy socialite. The Gay Bride has Carole as a goldigger look...

Re: Evelyn Daw
I found a bit of info on her. According to one site (findagrave.com) her real name was Evelyn Pearl Shuck Smith. She married Steward H. Smith, retired from acting, and lived in San Diego for many years. No mention of children. This was the only site that mentioned much of anything about her personal...

Re: Gone With or Without fanfare
Abe Vigoda has passed away. For real this time. It’s no longer a hoax: Abe Vigoda is actually dead. The Brooklyn-born character actor, famous for both his roles in “The Godfather” and TV’s “Barney Miller” during the ‘70s and for being erroneously proclaimed dead multiple times ever since, passed awa...

Re: Sherlock on PBS
So now that we've been teased with the special, any word on when the next actual series starts? I know Cumberbatch is extremely busy these days, and Freeman too, with film careers taking off. We may not get another one for some time.

Re: Dr. King, the Media, and Cinema
Interesting, I wonder what happened with the film role. The interviews are another side of Dr King that I've never really seen, having honestly only known him from reading about him and from his well known speeches (has anyone NOT seen the I have a dream speech?
)
