I'll look forward to your for candids here Mr. M., I see they had a field-day with your thread over there. Keep a stiff upper lip. They don't know a good thing when they see it.

Another true "bad girl" Audrey Totter . Name a 'noir that she didn't make better. I was watching " The Unsuspected" and she basically stole the film from Claude Rains. ( which is a hard thing to do) She was also great in "The Set-up" with Robert Ryan and "Tension &...

Besides the ones Ken123 picked (*3 of which are Lancaster Films) Certain music makes the film. Like Elmer Bernstein's music in 1990's "The Grifters" sometimes I can't get that tune out of my head. Also Anton Karas haunting Zither in "The Third Man" and lastly Victor Young's music...

I guess feel the same way as Fred as I do Hugh Beaumont. They were both good in their TV roles. Used better in supporting roles rather than leads. I never considered him a leading man. In films like "Double Indemnity" it is was a Stanwyck film not so much a MacMurray film. The same can be ...

I also love Woo's "Hard-Boiled" from 1992 before switching to American films. He also used Wing-Hung Wong as his Cinematographer. And it is available on DVD. With Chow Yun-Fat as Inspector Tequila. Non stop action.

Most of us watch films because we are (in a way) voyeuristic. In watching films we: cry, laugh, are happy and sad, scared, glad and content, envious and mad. (Like real life). It’s all part of watching movies regardless of the genre. Watching certain films are like “peeping” into the lives of others...

Originally Orson Wells was suggested for the role of J.J. Hunsecker. But it was producted by Hill-Hecht-Lancaster Productions. So it was hard not to cast Lancaster. Curtis & Lancaster starred together the year before in Carol Reed's "Trapeze" were they also played off each other well. ...

I agree with Barbara Steele, she scared me in the film "Black Sunday" (La Maschera del demonio) 1960. I hid behind the theater seats during most of the film as a kid. Directed by Mario Bava.

I'd like to hang out at the "City Dump" hoping to meet The Bullocks, particularly Angelica Bullock. So, we can drink until we both see Pixies. Hopefully we don't run into Carlo.

I really liked it also. True Fuller B-movie, with close ups and of course good dialog. ( We don't like to called "Cops" just like women don't like to be called "Broad's!") Glenn Corbett seemed to be yelling constantly at one thing or another. Anna Lee was quite a surprise, she co...

There were others who were schedule for roles.Wallace Beery turned down the role of Capt Bligh because he didn't like Clark Gable. Clark Gable was disappointed when Franchot Tone was cast as Byam. The two actors had been bitter rivals for the affections of Joan Crawford, and did not like each other ...

To me it's the Music that can change a Mediocre film into a good scary one. Try watching a Horror film with the sound off. The scare factor is gone. But add a Pulse-pounding soundtrack and you're on the edge of your seat.

I always liked Newton ,ever since seeing him in Jamaica Inn. Loved him as Blackbeard the Pirate and in Odd Man Out. Shame about his drinking problem, he often found himself unemployable due to his unreliability. In his earlier roles he reminded me of Leo Genn (another great British actor) Bill (vallo)
