Re: What are you listening to?

I kept all my records. Most of them are from the early 80s. Have some classical albums and while I bought many of the same thing on cd it was almost always a different version. I have always enjoyed the liner notes on classical albums. Today was an old Ashkenazy recording of the First and Second Rac...

Re: Deleting posts

I would have to defer to Lomm, but for my side of things there is an option (at the most) for a moderator to delete all posts. I don't see an option to delete an account.

Re: Classical Music

A fun moment when an audience member helps out, much to the delight of the singer.

Re: BBC Suggestions

My intention was to include anything British. Your PS was right. It was for people to suggest other British productions for me (or anyone) to watch. Happy to have it here unless you find something you think more suited for it.

Re: BBC Suggestions

Scrolling through the historical posts here, it appears the discussion in this thread is conflating BBC, ITV and Channel 4 (E4) programs. (txfilmfan in a recent post touches on the differences.) It seems the general idea of this thread is for it be a discussion about British television in general r...

Re: POLL: Do you want a Like button? Poll has ended!

After the holidays and over the next few weeks Lomm will do some research to see how we can integrate a like button into the forums. It is a one-man tech crew so as time allows he will see what he can find. Hang in there.

Re: Holiday Surprises

This year's holiday surprise is the weather. We didn't have any snow here in MD but it sure got cold and with enough wind ot blow over a big pine tree in the neighbor's yard.

Re: What are you listening to?

Brahms' First Piano Concerto. It is what I listen to when I get aggravated or anxious. It helps that I think it a great piece of music no matter my mood. The Second is a wonderful piece too.

Re: POLL: Do you want a Like button? Poll has ended!

Speaking only for myself, I want everyone to stay and everyone to enjoy the place, button or not. Frankly, I am a little surprised that this much energy and angst has been spent on this item. My hope is that we comment with as much enthusiasm over whether Dramas or Westerns are the better genre, or ...

Re: POLL: Do you want a Like button?

This was always a small home grown site. (I even owned it for a time when I inherited it.) Started in the days of trouble at TCM (2007) we wanted to get out of that world and be the small group who talked about the same things, and that was movies. For years we were pretty active among the regulars....

Give me David Attenborough and a BBC Planet Earth (and its various sequels) and I will be busy for a while.

Re: What recent films have you seen?

Hi TikiSoo:

There is a thread called "I Just Watched..." over in "Movies and Features on TCM." Wasn't sure if you were looking for something similar or content to go on here. Either is fine.

Re: Noir Alley on TCM

Just a note to say that I am not sure the threads can be combined. I think we would hesitate to delete one for the other with comments in there that might be lost. I would be more inclined to think one might become the primary thread for it. Lomm is the expert on all technical things but will see wh...
