"our" mysterious lady

Jack, I just watched "Good News", and there she was...buried in the back of the line this time, but there nonetheless. I really wasn't sure it was her until the very last number, and sure nuff... Either she or the wardrobe lady really liked her in purple. She's sporting a purple dress and ...

AMEN Marco!
When people are ignored, they tend to go away.....

Larry, you are too ornery. Ooopsy indeed.

What about T.R. Knight? He's cute and cuddly, but I don't think he's much of an actor.

Larry said: They can't act, they can't sing, they can't dance, they can't even speak coherantly.... I think Donald O'Connor said that about Jean Hagen's character in "Singin' in the Rain". He added, "A triple threat!" Anyway, when I read Larry's opening of a great new thread, for...

I think I told you before, "Jack Burley" was one of my favorite characters in one of my most favorite movies. But if you prefer, Moraldo it is!

Thanks for hunting.

Jack, was "our" girl one of the Dubarry ladies? The cast listing for "Meet Me In St. Louis" lists the chorus as the MGM Music Maids. They also were in "The Pirate". Wonder if there is an actual list of names for the Music Maids. I went to IMDB, but no luck there. Thanks...

John, LOVE your new avatar. What movie is this from? Dorothy Malone is one of my favorite ladies of the movies, and Guy Madison was a childhood crush.

J38, I totally agree! "Persuasion" is a terrific movie. Who could be talked out of marrying Ciaran Hinds???   Especially with the family she was stuck with. The costumes, location scenery, the leisurely pace of the whole movie...divine! I have to have a "fix" e...

Good Morning! Sitting here with my first of many coffees, this has been a particularly great way to wake up-with Astaire, Ames, Bremer and Natwick. I remember seeing this the first time on a snowy Saturday afternoon, and being swept into the charming fantasy of it. I am no film scholar, and don't as...

Oh, man, so close...and still no cigar.... I read on the boards that you were headed for a viewing of "Yolanda and the Thief" yesterday, and was wishing you a great time. Sounds like it was wonderful! I wonder if IMDB might have some info on "Y&TT"? I periodically check the T...

Cynthia's fate

Jack (I still love the Jack Burley handle, he's one of my favorite characters in one of my favorite movies, "San Francisco") anyway, I watched this a couple of months ago, and as I remember, Mama relented and let her go to the dance/party/whatever it was BEHIND PAPA'S BACK and of course Cy...

Good Mommies

Hi Carol.
What a lovely day you gave your daughter. I'm sure she will always remember it. Thanks for sharing, it's really nice to read a positive note, and it certainly brightened my day.
