Well, my two worst choices have been eliminated by the studio and date rules. "Miss V from Moscow" (1942) is a PRC film, and "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" was released in January 1970. I'll have to think about it some more.

No one should ever feel he or she is the bearer of the truth and/or the righteousness. Well said! Having taken a long winding road from Atheist to follower of Christ (I never use the term "Christian"), I try to tread lightly when it comes to others' beliefs, or non-belief. Too many bad ex...

Back to "Citizen Kane", the first two times I tried to watch it, I fell asleep. I managed to stay awake for the third viewing. I still couldn't get into it. Beautifully filmed, well-acted, innovative, yes, but the storyline just wasn't strong enough to keep me interested. For me, the story...

A very nice review of "Heller in Pink Tights", Ann. After reading a lot of negative reviews of the movie, and not being a fan of westerns, I didn't think I'd like it, but it was indeed a fun little film. Very beautiful cinematography, and great casting (other than Steve Forrest's bizarre l...

Hope that you'll let me know how your own gardens are growing. Oof! The drought's in high gear now, so nearly everything is suffering. I still have daylily blooms by the thousands, lots of caladiums, and my bog lilies are starting to bloom, but everything else is giving out quickly. Watering with o...

:( Stuck in my time warp of watching old movies almost exclusively, I really didn't know she was that old. I never liked dancing/musicals until a few years ago, but she quickly became one of my favorites once I matured enough to appreciate them. Awful news.

Nothing against Tiger Woods or any other modern golfer, but change out their bags with vintage pre-1980's clubs and balls, and see how they would stack up against Nicklaus, Palmer, Trevino, Player, Hogan, Jones, Nelson... I rarely golf anymore, as my back and knees prevent it, but when I hit the lin...

Thanks Mr. O'Brady.
Always glad to give an uneducated interpretation of Mr. Young's lyrics. Now if someone can explain his "Sedan Delivery" (one of my favorites), I'd feel complete.

Neil young - Powderfinger After all these years I still don't know what the hell this song is about. I always assumed it was a 22-year-old kid being killed trying to defend his land against either a Civil War patrol boat or better yet, government revenuers. But from the man that gave us "Cowgi...

Okay, now that the Dolls, MC5, Stooges, Verlaine, Hell, and my favorite Patti Smith have been mentioned, no arguments. Early punk had no defining sound, just the attitude. If you wanted 3-chord ultra-fast 2-minute tunes, the Ramones were your guys. Now I think I'll hit Mike Ness's website...

One of the first, if not the very first, American punk rock band.
That statement often leads to heated arguments!
