Mrs. O,

Were you the interviewer for the Turner Archive Project and if so, what was that like? Can you give us any background on the project and how long you worked on it?

It was a fabulous day, and I enjoyed all the time I was able to spend with Alexa! Her expertise and knowledge about the history of classic film is beyond encyclopedic. Thank you, Alexa!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Sue Sue ... you are very fortunate to spend any amount of time with her ... I would be thrilled to spend 15 minutes with her and I'm so happy for you. :) Thanks for sharing your time with ALEXA!

Say, Alexa, I just came across an extended version of the TCM interview with Rod Taylor on youtube! Were you the person who conducted this Q & A (if so, you are one lucky gal!)? Had a crush on him since I was a toddler, literally. Even though he describes himself as decrepit and says that he was never good looking enough for leading roles (!), could you share any comments about him, if you had a chance to meet this man, who was one of last actors to have been directed by John Ford (at least for awhile on the wonderful Young Cassidy)??

Thanks for any insights you could share. I know you are super-busy, so please don't stress about replying.

Ha! It's kind of a funny poster, and yet I won't turn down the opportunity to look at Rod bare-chested. Just saw him on the Twilight Zone marathon, in uniform. sigh

The best thing about Rod Taylor in that interview is what a truly great, good natured guy he seemed to be. And he IS totally wrong about not being big enough, or strong enough. I was thinking all the way through the interview, with all those clips from his movies, that if I were casting James Bond and Sean Connery weren't in the running, I'd absolutely pick Rod Taylor as my number one choice.

Me too, rod would have made a fine 007.

He had the rugged good looks, the great charm, the humor, and the seriousness about acting that it takes, at least I believe so.

also the class. like sean he could play both working class, educated class, no class and everything in between.

now cary grant was supposedly fleming's choice, and since rod had a chin cleft and cary had a chin cleft, it seems totally natural he could have been a good choice.
