I've kept track of what I've seen in written journals, on IMDb, and on Letterboxd. That last site is probably the easiest to use for this purpose. Wikipedia can also be used, but it's not as comprehensive. For that one, search "(year) in film".

Since we have now covered one year in each main decade of film history (save the 1910s from which little survives), it is time to move into the second round of years for each decade. Since the last year was 1924, a more modern year seemed required, and I decided on 1991, a year I am probably too fond of (it lays claim to being my favorite modern film year), but it is also one of the years I have seen the most from.... So, both the best and worst lists from me this year will look like laundry lists compared to most years! As a counterbalance to a modern year, the next year up will be 1959.
