Oh, I am a huge Sabatini fan! I've got many of his novels, and while the writing style of some make them hard going, I do love them.

If you've not seen Milton Sills' The Sea Hawk, it's one worth seeking out. I need to replace my VHS with the Warners Archive version.

I'm also a fan of Anthony Hope and have most of his books too. I do love me some swashbucklers

Kino is releasing Doug Fairbanks' The Black Pirate on Blu-ray on Dec. 14th. It will include the original 1926 orchestral score as conducted by Robert Israel, as well as an exclusive organ score by Lee Erwin. (I really hope the Israel score has a 5.1 remix!)

I watched "Tarzan Of The Apes" (1918) with Elmo Lincoln the other day. I found the piano accompaniment too loud and quite annoying. But I did enjoy this first Tarzan movie which represented the novel more than any other movie to follow.

I also really like the silent Tarzan of the Apes, which is a lot of fun and does stay pretty close to Burroughs' book.

The silent Ben-Hur was on the last big Ben Hur box set.

I'll get excited if they do the silent version as a *Blu-ray.*

Yippee, I love Wings, what a pity I can't put it on the Xmas list.
