Do not miss the (very French) 1955 DIABOLIQUE tomorrow. In my book this is one of the best horror films ever made. Human monsters, the worst kind of creature.

I am in the mood for FROM HELL IT CAME.
You know, the one about that walking tropical tree.
Oh well, maybe I can find it on YouTube.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
I swear I just heard Jacqueline Stewart say that the Hollywood Production Code "took effect in the late 1930's, early 1940's"
These hosts must be on overload, since I remember Stewart saying the exact same time frame for when the minstrel cycle on screen ended. (unfortunately it continued way beyond the early '40's but apparently she didn't know that either)

It's OK! No worries! It happens sometimes if the computer system catches on something for a second.Bronxgirl48 wrote: ↑June 4th, 2024, 3:21 pm What the hell happened? Three extra posts?

lol, I'm sorry about that.
TCM needs to shape up. I like Jacqueline but even she is getting facts wrong.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
I remember that after Psycho was released, Hitchcock received an irate letter from a woman who said that her daughter would not take a shower after seeing Psycho, nor would she take a bath after seeing Diabolique and she demanded that Hich give her some advice. Hitch replied "Send her to the dry cleaners."Fedya wrote: ↑June 4th, 2024, 6:42 pmNeeds to be on a double bill with Psycho.Bronxgirl48 wrote: ↑June 4th, 2024, 3:20 pm Do not miss the (very French) 1955 DIABOLIQUE tomorrow. The daughter might not want to take a bath if she had seen They Came from Within. If it was her son, he might not want to take a bath after he had seen I Spit on Your Grave.CinemaInternational wrote: ↑June 4th, 2024, 8:26 pmI remember that after Psycho was released, Hitchcock received an irate letter from a woman who said that her daughter would not take a shower after seeing Psycho, nor would she take a bath after seeing Diabolique and she demanded that Hich give her some advice. Good choice although I'd pick LE CORBEAU.

Hitchcock lost out to Henri George Clouzot for the movie rights to Diaboliqie by a matter of hours! very true a few hours...
