*CANDIDS*
Re: *CANDIDS*
Judith, he was featured recently on a documentary about Walt Disney. He still has that mischievous look in his eyes. He choked up when he talked about the day Walt died. In fact, most of those interviewed teared up when talking about WD.
I remember wanting to slap him silly when watching "Swiss Family Robinson". He was a cutie, though.

Re: *CANDIDS*
That is very possibly the best picture I have ever seen of Gene Wilder. My dad went to school with him, back when he was Jerry Silberman....
Do you go right through the weekend with these birthdays, Mongo? And do you take requests? I am wondering because Ben Johnson's birthday is on the 13th. Thanks.

It's the stockings....
I love Blondell the best. What a combination, sexy, cute, funny and worldly-wise.

Jack, that was the best image of Gene Wilder that I could find. In most of the others he looked like a disheveled scientist.
There will definitely be a homage to Ben Johnson on his birthday.

I love those pre-code gals, too. It's like you can admire them without being jealous (they are dead, after all!). Joan Blondell is the best of them all, too cute and too funny. And don't you love that lingerie.

Yes, Mongo! Those gals are soooo burnin' up the screen! I especially like Miriam Hopkins; now, there's an unsung heroine!
I also like the dates! But, I think Jane and Farley were just friends!

Re: *CANDIDS*
I have a picture of Blondell sitting in the bathtub that is so scorching hot! She's got this big babydoll smile on her face, and is wearing nothing but a scrub-brush....I'll post it in The Men's Room if you like......
I also read her first "novel", Center Door Fancy. It's a thinly disguised autobiography. She had a bit of a tough time growing up and as a young girl with looks, men were quite happy to take advantage of her. The book is a good fast read, fairly well written and quite entertaining.
