Joe, refresh my memory, what did Bette have to say about the divine Mr. Davenport? (even his name is old fashioned, and grandpa like...my grandmother always said 'davenport' rather than sofa or couch)mongoII wrote:I believe we all are, Nancy, including Bette Davis.
Re: *CANDIDS*
Nancy, I believe that Bette said that he was a warm and intelligent gent who she enjoyed talking to at length. They became friends since they were in a few films together including "All This and Heaven Too" and "The Bride Came C.O.D.".

Hey! I say "davenport". Maybe I should change my member name to "Gramps"?knitwit45 wrote:Joe, refresh my memory, what did Bette have to say about the divine Mr. Davenport? (even his name is old fashioned, and grandpa like...my grandmother always said 'davenport' rather than sofa or couch)
Re: *CANDIDS*
well, it would be easier to type..
Maybe its a regional thing? Haven't heard anyone around here refer to a 'davenport' for years...
