Yep, the second Rex must have won the Makeup Artist an Oscar.

Again, thanks mongo for the Birthday photos each day. I especially like the fact that you simply present them, still with us or not, as well loved "friends," some of whom we haven't see in quite a while. And it's true, thanks to film they will never really leave us, not as long as even one person stops to remember.

Joe, many thanks for posting the pic of the lookalike Cagney brothers.

If you ever get the chance, check out the '35 Paramount flick STOLEN HARMONY. Bill Cagney plays one of Lloyd Nolan's gang and it's eerie to see the similarity between Bill and Jimmy - especially so since Bill plays a hood. Bill also (sorta) replays Jimmy's PUBLIC ENEMY "dance of death" at the climax of the picture.

Oh, and btw: George Raft plays the lead.

James Edwards. Wonderful, underrated actor. His scene with Tim Carey in THE KILLING is classic!

The wonderful Johnny Come Lately will be released on Blu-ray by Olive on May 6. I can't wait! I've treasured my laser disc for many years but I'm ready to replace it with a Blu-ray. :)

Merry trio Rita Hayworth, Cesar Romero and Dolores del Rio in 1977

Cesar Romero was a great admirer of Rita Hayworth and adored her from her glory days of Hollywood. Delores was a great fan of her work with Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly and felt that Rita should had gotten more recognition that she deserves. It was one of Rita happier times when she met Cesar Romero and Delores back in 1977. They were good friends and it's was Princess Yasmin that made the arrangement to have these three individuals met back then. That's what I was told ...
