Iris Adrian Revisited

In viewing many old films in Black & White I noticed that Iris Adrian was in a ton of those movies. And I like Iris Adrian. Iris died in 1994 at the age of 82. One of my favorite old movie is "His Butler's Sister" starring Deanna Durbin and Iris was in that. In fact, Iris was in a couple of Durbin's films. Here is an amazing Iris Adrian Filmography dating back to her first movie in 1928 and ending in 1980. I do not believe she ever played more than a character actress but she sure made a career of it. How many of these films did you se her in? I am not sure but I think I remeber her in about 25 films but I am sure I saw her more than that. She apparently made 131 films. I wonder if that is a record.

What a joy character actress Iris Adrian is. Of the films listed my favorite is "Lady of Burlesque" when she played the tough gum snapping Gee Gee. She was a delight.

It should be noted that His Butler's Sister was directed by Frank Borzage. :)

Alas, it is not available on DVD in the U.S., though you can get it on a used VHS. It has been released on DVD in the U.K.
