I can't really comment about Duck Dynasty because I've never seen it but friends who watch it tell me that in addition to all the Knitty said, they are very good businessmen to boot. A friend of mine described the show as the anti- "honey boo" because you aren't watching to make fun of them but because you actually like them.

Okay, obviously a lot of people like the ducks, so I will no longer criticize. I did watch one program and unfortunately all I saw was four men riding each other with stupid talk and more stupid ideas, so I caught one show in 7 years that differed from all the rest, but my main problem is I cannot stand to look at them in all their glorious raunchieness.
.
That is great news about the resigning for another season, Hip, Hip, Hooray!!!

Anne, that's what I LOVE about the Oasis...we can cheerfully agree to disagree!!! Maybe, because I am further south of Chicago, I hear some of the drawls and idioms much more often. I also love to listen to people from different parts of the country, especially when they are using terms and phrases I'm not familiar with hearing.

Bottom line...thank you for respecting my choice, and I respect yours!!!

Knitty:

You're the one who is great! I have been in the dog house for years because I was once accused of being racist, but believe it or not, I was actually paying a compliment to some people who were not afraid to voice their feelings, but I worded it all wrong. It sounded good to me, but others took it totally from a different galaxy. Anyway, you know I love C&W music, and one of the guys at the top of my list after Waylon Jennings, is Willlie Nelson, but as much as I like to listen to him, I hate to look at him - he would fit right in with the DD. Thank goodness they cleaned him up for his part in Stagecoach where oddly enough, he played the drunk, so normally his character would be rather unkempt. BTW, I lived in Arkansas for about 18 months, so I know what you mean.

Hey - no Lizzie was coming around to make up - did you notice?

Lizzie painted herself into a corner. It did look incriminating, especially when Walt appeared, clothed only in a towel and good intentions... I'm sure she is convinced she was right.

spring sure is along way off....

I think we Longmire fans are very lucky that it is the most watched dramatic show on A&E. The second highest rated drama and the series that kicked off the network's getting into dramas, The Glades was canceled the day after our show was renewed.

Whew! Feels like we dodged a bullet!

I told her about the big deal you were making of the shower scene. She asks "When is that one?"

She thinks he is somewhere around Clint Eastwood and Sam Elliott. I said "He's a Taylor. Of course he's great."

Chris,

That is great news! I rarely watch A&E so I might have missed it!

Less than two weeks. I still remember the final shot at the end of last season. I like shows that stay with me like that.

YAY!!!!!! (see me do the happy dance!)

I am SO much older than I realized...just went thru this thread, and it was like reading about a show I haven't seen... :? I need to re-visit the last eps as soon as possible.
