Dear Chris et al,

Thank you for thinking of me, I appreciate it.

Yes, I am fine; Calgary's flooding is mostly on the eastern side and some on the south too; I am on the western area...
The sun came out this morning for the first time in 5 days and around where I am, you wouldn't know anything has happened.
But, downtown and points east are closed until at least Thursday now...

High River Town, south of here and Canmore in the Rockies are devastated though and everyone has been evacuated.

Take care,
Larry

I just heard about it from a friend of mine in Vancouver B.C. and I'm grateful that you are safe Larry!

Hi,

The army arrived last night and this morning - we have tanks going down the streets now and they don't stop for traffic or pedestrians....
I went for brunch with friends and we had to dodge across streets as they don't obey stop lights - even though we had the "Walk" light.
Oh well, we didn't become road kill - so all's right with the world.

The downtown is being cleared and cleaned but still closed till Thursday.
Stampede Park and the Saddledome are still underwater and the Calgary Stampede starts in 2 weeks!!!! Ha, ha - we'll see....

And, because this is a movie board, I will tell you that at brunch I kidded that I expected Esther Williams to swim by as we're all "Underwater"; which then reminder me: "Oh, and Jane Russell too!" Nobody got it - what a dull bunch....

Today, and the next 4-5 days

In my own hometown we are having better than above average temperatures and a rare 4th of July of which we aren't going to have rain at all. Our average temperatures will be mid-to-upper 80's and occasionally low 90's as well. So, I'm planning on keeping cool and drink plenty of fluids.

Sun 30th
A typical winter`s day in paradise. Overnight the temperature dropped to 16 degrees (60.8F) with a sunny day to come and an expected top of 26 degrees (78.8F).

Here in western Kentucky, it's rained nine out of the last ten weekends. I don't mind a little rain. But every weekend?

In my hometown we had a brief rainstorm that literally dumped half of inch of rain in 1 hour - it was a downpour of downpour - and we are still having thunder and lightening and - its been one crazy Summer so far. I don't recall a year like this one!

The forecast in Kentucky is HOT! I'm feeling self conscious that I might not smell so good. From sweating so much. Well, you know what? Get over it. Once in a while, people stink!
