Oooh boy. Fossy, my sympathies for your and your daughter's loss. I think Charlie waited for her. I'm so sorry.

Oh, Joe. That was so touching.

Were Airedale Terriers the most popular dog in pre-war Hollywood? Sometimes it seems that way.

I just saw a friend driving with her dog hanging its head out the window. What a well-behaved pooch. My little whirlwind would be out the window and in the street! We don't do the things normal dogs do!

Red, be glad she doesn't! It is extremely dangerous for dogs. A friend's cocker spaniel was nearly blinded while riding in the desert early one morning. She was allowed to have her head out the window, because it was still cool enough to have the windows down. My friend didn't realize that the air was full of tiny bits of sand. So sad, and so preventable

I had planned to return to this thread even before reading the interesting posts by Masha and Erik. My unpredictable canine stuck her head in a bush this morning, and came out eating who knows what! I swear, I'm afraid she's going to come up with something toxic. This happens every day. I stop her when I can. But I have to let her have some fun. She's just being a dog!
