Our fellow member Garbomaniac let it slip in one of his posts that yesterday, April 14th, was his birthday!
Since you share your debut day with no less than Henry James, Sir Neville Marriner, Claudia Cardinale, and Emma Thompson, is it any wonder that you're such a colorful person with a keen eye for beauty, glamour and the arts? Sorry to have missed the day, but please accept this wish for a splendid new year in your life, full of pleasant surprises and good health. In the words of one of your dearest friends:
Well, talk about a belated response! First, my computer has been in the shop since Tuesday. I just got it back last night. That's really no excuse since Tuesday was the 21st, and my last post was Monday the 20th, FIVE days after this was posted.
I am terribly embarrassed, but terribly flattered. I thank all three of you for the good wishes, and that fabulous picture of Garbo, moira! It's nice to know I am in such good company (Henry James, Sir Neville Marriner, Claudia Cardinale, and Emma Thompson)!
But, I have to tell you a couple of funnies! Two major catastrophes happened on April 14th: The Titanic struck the iceberg that night, but sank on the 15th, and Lincoln was shot that night, but died on the 15th. Oh, and I was born! But, I was born early in the morning, so I think I'm safe.
I'm still gathering my birthday list but I'm not sure which date I should set aside for you. Is it the 14th or the 15th? Whichever, I hope your day was great and you were able to celebrate in some fashion.
