Thank you, MissG. And congratulations to Movieman and his wonderful bride! Didn't we decide that you've been married an hour or two longer than we have?

Our daughters threw a surprise party for us on Palm Sunday. The biggest and best surprise was that, all the way from beautiful Fairfax, Virginia, were the two most Beautiful Granddaughters in This and All Known and Unknown Parallel Universes. 80-90 family and friends. I figured it was just a way to guilt us into hanging on for two more weeks and actually make it to 30 years.

Time flies when you're having fun.

Ours was to be a surprise but we figured it out about a week ahead. That was good. We got to add some things and a few people. We did a little thing on the porch where we had a question and answer period and a dear friend who is a pastor had a prayer for us and the guests. There were about 30 or so of us which was about the right number.

The Bride gave me a gift of a picture that had several stills from "The Quiet Man" along with a few pictures of our wedding. While we are not nearly as interesting as the characters we like to think our time together has been a fine love story. I'll try and get the picture of that on here too.

It was a fine end to a stressful week. Taking the day and tomorrow off for some time to do something together where laundry is not involved.

Both ChiO and Movieman's marriages make me realize even more that there is something special about you guys. It can't all be luck and the individual ladies involved, fellows!

The little post it note, bottom right, is where the engraved plaque goes, that reads : "My "Quiet Man" , April 29, 1984 , given April 29, 2014".

ChiO, I was in Chicaggo yesterday, well, at the airport for about 40 minutes any way, and I thought of you the whole time....Happy Anniversary to you and Mrs ChiO, and to you, dear MovieMan and Mrs MovieMan! I hope you all have a day filled with love and and laughter and family and friends!

Thank you, Knitty & Movieman. 31 years - that's almost half of my life (and Mrs. ChiO's age - or so she tells me).
