Dewey, can we step back to the Lennon/McCartney songs of their early days? An important one was left out:

Cilla Black (love the hair and the dress!!) It's For You (watch the whole thing and see some surprise guests)

Thanks for the Cilla Black bonus track, DJ Judith; that's a tune that
seems to have slipped through the cracks---much groovier than
"You're My World." Here's another UK band that scored with a tune
penned by Lennon & McCartney...
GERRY & THE PACEMAKERS "How Do You Do It?"

This popular UK combo charted over there in '66 with this "Revolver"
cover, but got nowhere with it in the states
CLIFF BENNETT & THE REBEL ROUSERS "Got To Get You Into My Life"

Like the song says: Other guys imitate us/But the original is still the greatest. (As you listen to this, try not to think of Buddy Holly.)

Speaking of Buddy Holly, I do believe these fellows were paying
an homage with their name…Here are The HOLLIES singing my
three fave-o-rite tunes.

“I’m Alive” (first Power Pop record?)

“Look Through Any Window” (with special intro just for Judith)

“I Can’t Let Go” (thanks to Evie Sands)

One final fling at a couple more Record Party Fab Four covers...
DEL SHANNON had a hit on the U.S. charts with "From Me To You"
a full year before the Beatles came ashore with it in 1964...

SILKIE snagged "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" off the Rubber
Soul LP and had a fair-sized hit for themselves...

ChiO - thanks for "It's Summertime." One of my favorite singles, ever. Adults in the musical know were quick to point out to us kids that the song is in the form of a medieval madrigal. Here's some more along those lines. The lyrics of this song are in the form of a Shakespearean sonnet (that's the name of the literary form). This track is a bit unusual --it's from a Beatles' 1969 studio session. The song was not used by the group, but George Harrison used it in his first solo album, "All Things Must Pass." And the song is called: All Things Must Pass.

Growing up, Sunday mornings at 11:30 meant only one thing....An Abbott and Costello movie on channel 11! Here are some of the tunes that helped make these films wonderful.

Andrew Sister’s in Buck Privates introducing that Boogie Woogie Bugler:

More Andrew Sister’s in In the Navy, wanting some skin, my friend

Ella(ah Ella), in Ride ‘em Cowboy. Tisket-a-Tasket

And a bit from the boys themselves. A bit of the “new math”, (which blew my nephew’s mind when I showed it to him)

With IRONMAN out there, the Record Party salutes tonight the
Super Hero who many of us turned to first after school and in comic
books. Faster than a speeding bullet…up in the sky…is it a bird?…
is it a plane? No, it’s…

R.E.M. with the song’s writer Gary Zekly “Superman”
