Yes!
Hank Williams is so good, it hurts.
Was that Dwight Yoakam? He's great! A pretty good actor too. Uh..huh.
Tammy. Oh yeah! Sing it.
Ernest Tubb is the reason I like country music. I saw this tall drink of water on TV one day, singing in his flat, dirt gravel voice, with this swinging, rockin' band backing him up, and fell completely in love with him.

Another early band I just fell in love with. I found an old record in a used bin and brought it home to my delight:

No one sings a sad song more thoughtfully and feelingly than Ray Price did. I love him.

Remaking the Beatles? Sacrilege! At least nobody has tried to cover Yesterday, Something or Twist and Shout.
(I'd forgotten how much I liked Kuban's Drive My Car. Thanks!)

Well, there is the uncreative, rehash side of the Fab Four:

A pillar of Chicago Soul, record producer CARL DAVIS, died yesterday. His first
hugh hit was a recording by a Chicago doo-wop group, The Dukays, that was
released under a false name of its lead singer, Gene Chandler. The record: Duke of Earl.
